I'm wondering if we shouldn't compile case numbers in one place so that we have some power when one of our members encounters a dealer who balks the repair/warranty?
Not sure that should be publicly available but maybe one member could be the admin for that info? Thoughs? I too am seeing the early signs of failure. Already started a case file w my dealership. Now I'm getting worried. :( |
It took dealer like 2-3 weeks to get parts! Didnt give me any hassle another car was there for same problem being fixed
|
I'll be more than happy to provide my case number to the forum when this is all through. One thing to remember I'm out of my 3yr/36,000 warranty and I'm trying to get it covered under my 5yr/60,000 power train warranty n

Master and Slave replaced
Quote:
Anyway, there were no obvious problems they saw with either part but erred on the side of caution and replaced both. Could have been an interior seal (?). As an aside, what you end up noticing prior to failure is an inconsistent feel pressure wise in the clutch pedal (or at least I did). I also briefed up the guys at the dealership who, and they seemed legit, said they haven't had anyone stop by with the same issue and they've sold quite a few. I will, however, replace both with a high-end version should we head down the same road again. Aside 2: Also bought a set of four OEM Advanc Sport tires since mine were on the verge of shredding after nearly 20K miles. They're having a deal on them right now apparently -- buy 3, get one for a $1. |

I sincerely hope my dealership will fix it without too much hassle IF it fails. :( |
They never questioned it being covered. Told me right off replacing both master and slave would be on Nissan via the warranty. The only thing they said I'd have to cover was for a new clutch if it was worn out -- which I knew wouldn't be the case.
|
Just an fyi - i had to replace both too but paid for the master - no way theyvwill cover that under powertrain. Have you checked the fluid Wiggins ? Mine was jet black before replacing the master. Also, the delay is par for the course. My car was down a month. And your right about customer affairs. I thought when i told the guy it was a nismo he would have commented being a nissan employee - he never heard of "nismo. " before. I got the feeling the are subcontracted and probably do all makes. I could be wrong tho

Any news ?
|
Nope, someone from Nissan N.A. in Tenneesse called me yesterday, but I missed the call. Called her back and got her voicemail. Im currently in Columbus so i checked my car out yesterday at the dealer, the CSC that was in Michigan is gone now, and they had to order it from Texas and it wont be here until next week now.
On a possitive note i was concerned the tow company scratched my wheels last week. When i looked at my car yesterday there doesnt appear to be any damage! |
Whats the word?

Any Updates On Your Situation?
|
Well I picked my car up Friday and forked over $1,400. I still haven't received a call from Nissan however I was told by the dealer they called them after I left and they would reimburse me. That said on my way home from Columbus my car would stutter during acceleration. So now I may have to take it to another dealer :(

Wow. Sorry to hear this experiance you are having. How can people have such different experiances with the same company ? The whole auto industry is still circa 1950. You still have to haggle on pricing when buying so they can screw you as good as possible, the dealers all get to make thier own decisions and vary widely even if they are a mile apart, etc. its rediculous. What else works like this besides buying furniture ? Nothing that i can think of....

Well the car died on me again on Saturday... I had it towed to a Cincinnati dealer they took a look at it yesterday and think the last place didn't install the CSC properly and potentially missed a grounding wire or the cam and crank sensor wasn't properly reinstalled. Now they have to pull the tranny again. Worst part is they won't start anything until I either pay them or the Columbus dealer pays them... So I started yet another claim with Nissan NA. The good news is this dealer is willing to help me and tell Nissan the other dealer f**ked up.
Oh I forgot the best part, I still haven't received a call from Melissa Plant on my CSC claim!! When I called the 1800nissan1 number today for my new case I asked about the old one and the computer shows she's tried to call me... It's laughable!!! Needless to say Melissa received two more rather heated messages today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free |
I still haven't received a call from Melissa Plant on my CSC claim!!
God what a 6unt! :shakes head: Upsetting I tell ya. Dang man just give it time. There has to be light at the end of the tunnel. |
Well, time for an update. As you may know my car started acting funny on my 100+ mile drive home after i had the CSC replaced. Long story short i had it towed again this past sunday to a cincinnati dealer and after running all kinds of tests my IPDERM (WTF is that?!) is fried and needs to be replaced. They believe its a direct affect of the CSC install and potentially something with not grounding a wire properly... well its gonna cost me another $1300 if Nissan doesnt cover it.
So on Monday the local dealer suggested i make a new case with Nissan NA so I can try to get them to cover it based on faulty installation. Turns out this may have been the best remedy to my problems. They combined my two cases and have someone new looking into both (accourding to the Nissan computers Melissa has tried calling me several times over the past few weeks... BS!!). At first this new person said they would reimburse me for 50% of the CSC repair... i told them no, given ive had terrible service from Melissa and ive now been without my Z for over a month because of them. In short, the fight continues but instead of $1400 we are up to $2700. Awesome! |

Another update. Just got off the phone with Luz at Nissan NA. They want me to have my car towed back to Columbus (on my own dime) and even then there's no guarantee they'll cover the new repairs... Absolutely crazy!!!
Talk about a sure fire way to lose customer loyalty. |

What's the small claims limit in OH? If you get stuck with the bill, go after the dealer that way.

That doesn't make sense at all. Did you perform any of the work? No? They performed the work, right? They own up to it, so they pay for it.
|
Is this a situation where you should call DE.50? He seems to have a knack for getting through to the right people at Nissan.
|
my luck with the CSC went like this.....
one dayat about 24k miles the pedal went to the floor. i added some fluid and it worked for half a day. i limped it over to nissan with a print out of about 30 pages from this website about how other people got theirs replaced under warranty. i was told that if they open the bell housing on the tranny and see an abused clutch then the entire service and parts are on me. if the clutch doesnt look abused its under warranty..... mine was covered :D when will it fail again..... i dread every push of the clutch now. :/ |

I call BS. It's a weasel clause for the dealership. I mean...define "abused". What exactly does an "abused" clutch look like? :shakes head: P.s. Glad it worked out for you btw! |

It's ~$500 part. Now the real question...how does this part fail after a trans install unless you're a totally incompetant tek :wtf: |

I also dont know why they would replace the entire transmission for a csc ?!?! That makes no sense either. Its a 6 ounce plastic part. Those mentioning being threatened about clutch replacement, i was threatened too. Didnt bother me none tho because i knew it was fine. i think thats standard and pretty understandable actually. There are alot of dipshits out there who have no business driving a stick. If I sold someone a car i wouldnt warranty the clutch either. A real dummy can kill a brand new clutch in an afternoon. My brother sold a wrx to a kid who learned to drive stick on the way home from buying the car ! He asked for tips so he could get it home an hour and a half away. He killed it by the time he got home.... Haha. I love stories like that. Dumb bastards... |
Well im stuck... Talked to Nissan NA again. They dont understand that i have a new issue (they think its my CSC still), and no matter how many times i tell them its something different, likley caused by a bad install, they dont seem to follow.
I talked to the local dealer and this guy has been very helpful and honest to me. He suggests that i do have it towed back to the columbus dealer since the install is under warranty for 12 months. Have them check everything and see if its truly related to a bad install. Plus he said it more likley that if the new issue is unrelated that i could get it cover under goodwill (which is 5yr/75000). Anyone have thoughts? |
