So this happened when I got my tires put on at Walmart.

You know what makes this worse is that they didn't even have the courtesy to tell you and own up to it. That's pretty obvious and would be difficult to miss; they had to have felt it when it happened as well.

Let us know how it goes OP.

Your first mistake was allowing walmart to even touch your car, I recently needed a wheel replaced and even the nissan dealer couldn't mount the old tire on the new rays wheel with out ruining it. The dealer ended up getting another new wheel and I had to take it to another Nissan dealer that had a touchless tire machine.

Before anyone works on your car you need to make sure they can properly handle it and will guarantee it.

I hope you get them to pay up for the damage, it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

If you need work done on a Z I would only trust a known dealer you worked with before and discount tire chain is supposed to great for wheels and tires on all exotic cars.

Heres one for you about 5 yrs. ago I had new tires put on a Nissan Fronteir at Pep Boys in New York, I glance outside to see how its going and this blonde blue eyed 22yr.old tire jockey is beating on the center plastic hub caps with a big hammer. I asked what the F he's going and he said he's trying to removing the center hub caps and I promplty showed the idiot that they twist off by hand and he was amazed.

I totally feel your pain, but I do want to share my experience with using Wal-Mart to change my tires for many years on different vehicles.

I've never had a problem and regualrly use them. Quick service, low price and the people are actually pretty friendly.

Now, I do take a few extra precautions to make sure no unnecessary driving happens.

Anytime I take any of my cars in for any kind of work (anywhere - for any reason), I always write the mileage on a mini-post-it and stick it right on the speedo lens and snap a picture of it with the ACC on to show they both match.

I keep the post-it's and a pen in the car. All my cars have those items in them and they come in helpful for other things too.

I make sure to nicely, but clearly, tell the service techs that I already wrote down the mileage for them "so it's easier to see" and they can just leave the sticky right where it is.

I've never had extra miles show up.

I did ask recently and my local Wal-mart was very up front with me and said the tire changer they have can't accomodate the low sidewalls of the Z and they can't change them. My other cars have 215/45-17's or taller and smaller and they've always done a nice job for me.
