1. You don't need to shift to feel an increase in power, so I don't think it's that.

2. If anything, now that we are forced to buy fuel with 10% Ethanol in it, the power potential of fuel should be worse than a few years ago.

and as far as getting louder, on my 2011 at first it was, but once i passed 20k on my mileage things seem to be smoothing out now especially at the higher RPM's....oh and just so everyone knows i took my throttle bodies off this last weekend and discovered that they had a nice ring of dried up oil that was making the butterfly valves stick in place so in case anyone gets up to around 20k or so it would probably be a good idea to get some throttle body cleaner in there and clean the throttle bodies out.
