Yep. Ravi cut me a great deal since I'm out of warranty. The part that irks me is that, if I had dealt with it the first time I saw a drop of coolant on the undertray, I'd have still been under warranty. Don't procrastinate, kids.

Found out the hard way that 18'' Varrstoen ES1's will not fit over the sport package brakes without spacers and extended studs.

OK, today ordered 2 pair of Continental DWS, supposed to be here this week sometime. I have a friend with a shop to mount and balance them, so new rubber for me. My current tires are 5 years old this May (original) with 21K on them, technically they're at the limit of safety even though they still have about 3-4 mm of tread in the middle and besides, they slip pretty bad even in moderate turns, so yeah I'm ready.
Can't wait to see how much quieter the Continentals are.

that might be dangerous...different front/rear tires makes for a really tail happy car. i had stock tires on the front with 20k miles on them, and swapped the worn rears to continental DW. car felt like it wanted to veer into the median at highway speeds. swapped the fronts with matching tires, and car drove straight again

Just to clear things up. Running different front/rear tires of the same compound in relation to each other won't induce oversteer (nor is it bad) but, putting NEW tires ONLY on the rear will induce a slight oversteer. I think that's what you meant but, not quite how it got typed out lol

I have different front tires but, they were new. Therefor they went upfront

Being that I got mine from a bridgestone dealer they are special order and require a shipping charge on every tire. You also forgot recycling fees. Mounting and balancing plus balance weights and so on and so forth.

tirerack charges 50bucks or so to ship ALL 4 tires. why would you pay for shipping on every tire? regardless, every tire place will match tirerack prices, if you ask. if not, no harm, no foul. but it never hurts to ask. also, everywhere ive gone, i simply pay a flat rate, between 25-35/tire for all mounting balancing, and recycling. if you're getting charged for weights, you need to go elsewhere. thats a stupid charge

and yes, thats what i meant. however its not just oversteer. at highway speeds the rear got really, really squirelly. like it wanted to break loose. i had the wheels balanced multiple times, and they were fine.

the S04's are overall better tires than the DW's especially in the wet. but the DW's are a lot lighter weight and do fine in the dry. i run DW's on my WEDS set. i like them a lot.

DWS's are amazing for jack of all trades tires. i run them on my dd. light snow? no problem!! where most a/s tire would turn into junk-falken ice skates. lol

tires do need to be broken in too. when i swapped just the rear 275/35 to 285/35 (both DW's), the first 50miles or so felt weird as expected. the front and rear of the car felt like two separate pieces. once the rears broke in though, no issue. the car came together.

DW's have a real nice feel with the roads around my area. i run S04's exclusively on my G.
