Installed the cargo cover and net. Then gave her a good wash and went for a drive. Still learning the car, my shifts are getting better except for the 1-2shift. Looking forward to spring/summer cruising.

Pintsize725 03-17-2013 06:25 PM

Just wiped down her interior with Meguiars Ultimate something. Cleaned the windows and wiped bugs off the bumper.

Threatened rain/snow all weekend and nothing happened. Missed two events because of it :(

My black "Z" emblem fell off in the car wash. Thankfully, one of the workers found it, and I was able to put it back on. I then ordered a set of Super Sports, a GTR start button, a carbon fiber fang cover, an oil filter, and five quarts of Mobile 1. Can't wait until it gets warm.

CDepp 03-17-2013 11:07 PM

Went out into downtown Charlotte ('uptown' read_t) with Thezmonster and a couple cool Nismo 350Z owners. Met an old mall security cop who decided to tell all about his life, then went to get some photo gear. Then we hit the garages in (uptown). Cruising the 4 Z's turning heads all the way. Today was a good day.

I love that stuff. 2 minute wax job!

Rev it up to 4k. Your shifts will be better into 2nd. Baby it and the shift is usually clunky.

Nice! How's the sound and do you have picks of the box and install? How deep are the subs?

I've been shifting around 3-3.5k for regular driving. I'll try revving a little higher. Our first gear is so short.

Side note, how are most MT drivers positioning their seats? I'm still trying to find the "sweet spot". I'm relatively short (5'7) and when I position my seat so I can fully depress the clutch and still have my knee bent, I find it uncomfortable as I'm now too close to the brake, gas, and steering wheel. This weekend I backed up the seat so my leg is fully extended when the clutch is to the floor and it seems to help with my shifting as well. Its a little awkward having to stretch my leg to start the car but I think I may have found my "spot". The Zs friction point seems rather high for how far (deep) the clutch travels.

Saturday Charlotte Cars and Coffee (8am) then cruise over to Emerald City Zs car show (10am arrive at noon)?

Pintsize725 03-18-2013 09:35 AM

Dropped the Evo-R lip off at the wrap place. Should be ready in a few days.

Would love to, still got about 2 weeks left in the desert :eekdance:

Haboob 03-18-2013 10:02 AM

Went to the Pavilions car show this week and met up with another Z owner (was hoping for more to show up).

Didn't stay long, but it was still fun. Noticed my car being noticed too.

Finally got the alignment done after installing coilovers, rear camber and toe bars. Now to order spacers....

Kelly hood dampers and M370 manifold! This give the low end intake growl the car was missing! Cant get on it too much, only 150 miles on the new clutch, but the mid range feels strong! Taken before the strut bar and cover went back on, it does fit.

http://i609.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps2686281b.jpg

I was not thrilled with the solution of the manifold sensor by motordyne, so I used a little pvc adhesive to hold it in secure.

Took the body kit to the paintshop. Installed the fancy wheels and tires. Cleaned the wheels wells and waxed the callipers. Detailed the interior.

Drove about 250 miles today around San Antonio and Austin

Oil change reminder came on, too, telling me I need to get intimate with her again :icon17:

Oil temp pegged at 240 pretty much all day - definitely got a little boggy trying to get on it later in the day :ugh2: maybe an oil cooler to think about...

I have a feeling the desert climate is going to make her run at 220+ all Summer. :ugh2:

Caught mine at that the other day when it was 95 out and I was cruising.

No doubt. 25 r oil cooler from Z1. Dont forget to fab up a block off plate and wrap the hoses with additional heater hose where it makes contact with the body.

Took the Z through some backroads and twisties. :)

:tiphat: block off plate is for winter right? I'm not even sure that's necessary here in TX as I was noting oil temps between 200-210 even on our coldest winter day this year.

I drive mine in COLD Colorado weather.(25 row stillen) There is a thermostatic bypass for the cooler, so I don't really see a reason for the blocker plate.

What am I missing?

I am wondering if maybe some oil coolers don't come with a thermostatic bypass but idk

I used to live in Corpus Christie, that would have been doable. Denver is just a bit outside my driving range for a detail. Thanks for the invite though!!!!

123123th attempt to source Nismo RC front brake ducts/vents. Dustin at Z1 gave me the names of a couple guys who run the RC on race teams and I've PM'ed them. Actually kinda cool talking to guys who race the car for a living or at least as a very expensive hobby.

You might actually want to get those replaced, you're not supposed to see that much fiber on the inner sidewall. :icon17:

And on another note be Extremely careful in any rain with that little tread, I had mine come out from under me in a rain storm with very similar tire wear.

Just tryin to look out. :tiphat:
