So the state of Maryland has decided to respond to the dire threat of "any ice on the road ever" by dumping vast amounts of salt onto every road imaginable.

It was so bad last week we actually had salt drifts in the middle of the road leading into my work parking lot.

The Z isn't seeing much action and when it does, I run around with a package of microfibers and detail spray like a crazy person every time I get out of the car.

ebay :icon17:

The forum sponsor ones look nice and all, and while I would certainly rather support them, $15-$20 for a pair of LEDs is expensive compared to these. I left the expensive ones on my Amazon wish list, so if someone gets them for me, I will definitely compare the differences and probably swap them regardless of the results so I have another thing to put it in my signature

Car arrived from California... and I was not there to drive it off the truck or tuck it in my garage. (got called in to fly around the country for 3 days) :(

Sooo... (because my wife is scared to drive it ;) ), the Z will sit out in my driveway until Wednesday. Grrrrrr!

The delivery guy drove it a few miles from the truck to my house... didn't notice or at least mention that it was in "Valet mode" (uprev). He told my wife how powerful the Z was... IN VALET MODE!!! lol :)

Went from being stock this morning to having ART pipes, Shockwave CBE, G3's by nightfall. Now to schedule a tune for next week. The car definitely came alive today.

Nailzs 02-04-2013 07:52 PM

Still waiting for my foam gun.
Tracking says it was delivered 2-1.
I didn't receive it.
Seems the local post office "misplaced it".
They're trying to find it. :shakes head:

And they wonder why no one uses them anymore.

Just dropped off JARblue's birthday gift and traded him some GT Mat Onyx for an interior LED swap and coolant top off.

congratulations!!!

your tune will make you smile even bigger!!!!!

JARblue 02-04-2013 09:13 PM

I did my LED install when I got home. I put some comparison pics in an album here

Ms. Pintsize then stopped by with a sample of 80mm GT Mat and couple of squares of their new high quality butyl product  Per her advice, the butyl will go around the speakers in the doors. The 80mm I plan to use around the rear wheels and as much of the hatch as possible. I still have the sample of 50mm as well, which I am considering doing on the roof because I will probably be doing a warranty claim on my headliner - there are two sagging areas where it meets the front windshield directly in front of the driver and passenger seats :icon14:

She said something about her coolant as soon as she pulled up, so I checked it and showed her how to check it  It was below the MIN line, so we added a little bit of OEM Nissan Blue coolant as I just happen to have a 99.5% full jug of the stuff :icon17: With all my recent coolant research and experience, I know the reservoir will generally read higher when the car is hot than when it is cold, so it was concerning that her coolant read below MIN with her car fully warmed. She is going to take it to get looked at as soon as she has a chance, but the dealer that was supposed to have originally fixed her coolant leak is very suspect :shakes head:

I also gave her three of my extra LEDs and replaced her stock interior bulbs with them :)

Foam gun and extreme foam (actually it's pretty cool)

and

Mr. Clean car wash system also with a filter refill, which last 3-5 times longer washing the Z compared to my Explorer :icon17: Yeah those are lots of scratches - I've had the thing for going on 10 years now I think

Nice. Although I swear by my F.I.'s, I am a fan of Motordyne too.

Mine was too expensive to just toss :ugh2: The Detailer's Pro Xtreme Foam Forumla Auto Shampoo is about the foamiest stuff I could find, and I bet it would work in just about any foam gun. When the car is really filthy, sometimes I use it to give the car a good presoak - it looks pretty cool when the car is almost completely covered in foam

I still haven't heard the F.I in person but I had heard the motordyne and figured it was a safe bet. That and I had Motordyne on my 350 and was pretty pleased with it.

A car with a early reputation for oil consumption on a date with a place notorious for oil leakage.

That would be cool. When I was in, joined as 9-11 occurred, getting a civilian car on the line was impossible. Would have been cool to line up a bunch of Z's under the wings of a B-52. (Barksdale AFB)

Waiz 02-05-2013 06:22 PM

Today I bought a microfiber wash mitt that I will use only for my wheels

Brake dust be damned! :icon17:

I joined right after 9/11. It's still a bit difficult but not if you know folks. There are C-5s here on base. Gonna see if I can't get an F16 to see if I can back Betty up into a C5 and take the pic with her inside it. Would be cool I think.

Oh yea, as far as what I did today. We got just enough of a sprinkle yesterday to put a layer of dust on Betty. So I went and bought some polishing cloths and polished her back to her regular shine.

So Sooooooffffftttt.

I also took apart my tow hook bracket to see if I could fit a license plate frame around it but that wasn't as exciting.

Got a new Z license plate frame and Z valve stem caps from the local dealer.
