Buy Used or New?

This is what I've been saying. There is a higher likelihood that you're buying a ragged out car if you're buying a sports car used, than just some grocery getter, because a lot of people buy them and test their limits. That's why I'd rather buy a performance car new.

Me too, that's what i did waited about 5 months for her to be built, but she was well worth it (also taking into consideration the devastation Japan suffered from the Tsunami). Knowing how a lot of sports car owners don't follow break in at all, i remember when i was in break in (about 1350 on her now) maybe went above 4K RPM 5 times, never exceeded 6K RPM (emergency situation only happened in one gear) of course i didn't hurt anything and know i did pretty good. For me, I will always buy sports cars new, and luxury cars right off of lease no older than 3 years old.

Thank you for the messages. Can I get your all's opinion on this one? It's low mileage and appears to have the sport package on it. Not sure on whether it is a touring model however.

Also - do you all have any input on reupholstering and the cost associated with that? That interior looks pretty fugly to me in spite of being leather, would probably want to get it re-done.

Does not have touring. Not bad mileage but I think they are a little high on their price. Truecars has a few near me with a little higher mileage for around $25K

Defintely not a fan of that brown. You might get lucky and find someone that swapped out their seats for racing seats that will sell you a set on the cheap.

It is a base with sport with aftermarket leather installed on it. I still think it is a good price though

Looks like someone swapped the base cloth seats for the leather ones. You can tell it's not touring because of the non-Bose stereo and there are no seat heaters.

Yeah I said touring at first, I looked more closely and saw it was aftermarket leather. I don't think those are OEM leather seats, someone swapped it in. On the carfax report, that's what stated.

9000 miles is pretty low, that's why I don't think the price is outrageous

I thought the same thing after seeing the seats, but had to look again more closely. The stereo looked weird to me, which is what tipped me off.

That doesn't have the sports package. Just the rims and spoiler added on. Look closely. There's no Synchro rev match button. Not a bad thing tho snoop!

If you look even closer you can tell it's an automatic--no SRM

I am on the used bandwagon, just buy smart. Drive the car, see how it feels, look at the details and the nooks and crannies of the car, some abuse cannot be hidden. Only advantage to certified is the extended warranty, which 09 and 10 is not a bad idea with the oil consumption issues... 100k powertrain, sees worth it to me if you plan of beating the car, plus you can buy ans 09 and still have a warranty.

I bought my 350z used with 67k, and I know it was beat on, had been in 2 accidents, and rattled all over...I made the car my own, and got a killer deal on it. I will be trading it on a 370 very soon, and a used one to boot. low miles can be had from 25k-30k depending on features.

A decent inspection is what, like $150? A fresh set of tires $1,500 and some fluid changes and alignment $500. Add a nice full detail at $250 and you're looking at almost $2,500 to refresh the car. Granted, not all this may be needed but new isn't that bad an option.

If $5k breaks your bank why buy a $30k+ sports car?
