That's what they're shooting for, scaring you into submission. Don't let them. If you're not doing anything illegal, there's no reason for them to be harassing you on the road.
And yes, a cop following someone around for no real reason is harassment. Everyone, regardless of legal status, watches the cop in the rear view, gets nervous, gets distracted, etc. This leads to driver mistakes (which is what the cop is hoping for, to induce a ticket-able offense), and could even result in an accident. Just remember to be courteous when you confront them, and keep that lawyer on speed dial ![]() |
