add the RX-8 to the list. literal fail, although I gotta admit that the back seats were surprisingly roomy for an adult.

The creation of these sporty coupes was purely a business play to go after a larger available market. The sports car arena is flooded right now and most parents would prefer their kiddos to be running around in a lower powered vehicle that still makes them feel cool. I'm willing to bet that this joint venture product makes more money than they originally expected. I'll keep my Z by the way..

The suicide doors sounded good in theory, but turns out to be just as annoying as having to move the front seat forward. They could have saved the R&D cost associated with those stupid doors into a more powerful engine.

Also, did anyone else see that thing about how Toyota might collaborate with BMW for their next sports car.

Too bad the front seats were cramped

The little suicide doors? For better ingress/egress from the back seats? I thought that was a good idea.

BRZ Sti will be hot sauce, even if it's carrying an impreza engine.

I had an RX-8 and the handling felt **much** better than my 370

Please don't judge a car by power alone, the rx-8 was the best handling car i've ever owned. Sure the power sucked, and I used to get like 14 mpg, but i'll be damned if I say I don't miss that car. Don't regret it one bit.

Oh and yes, it's the only "sports" car in which the back seats were actually usable...

if you rewind time, all cars boasting 'handling' were all slow.

sports cars are not suppose to be slow. a honda fit can out handle a rx8 if down hill.

The FRS/BRZ is just what the sport compact car market has been craving.. I was a 240 guy before my Z. All of the forums related to that platform have been begging for a reasonable sub 25k rwd coupe.. Albeit they were asking for it from Nissan, they didn't do it because they didn't want to take market share away from the already dwindling Z sales. Granted the frs/brz might be coming in a bit higher, the concept is right. That being said the frs/BRZ are not in the same class or caliber of vehicle as the Z IMHO.
