I just noticed the same problem on my 2011 yesterday. Prior to this most recent hot weather the temperature reading has always been pretty accurate and quick to respond to

how long does it take?
when my car has been sitting in the sun, the temp will usually read a few degrees higher than what it actually is, but it will go down once I start moving.
