Mr.happy thanks for the drink.  I ended up cleaning up the interior of my G35C to make myself feel like I accomplished something today. Also tried the replacement cup holder mount . Much better! Still deciding if I want to swap out the speakers on the Z ... I don't want to do too much work right now... but the stock speakers need more clarity up top.
