:icon18: hahaha! yah, no returns but i do have a new intake on order for my G. i took off the 350Z-tube and pop-charger last year as i was tired of noise, but my mpg went to craps (from 17-18mpg to 10-12mpg on surface roads :eekdance: ) so going to put that back in and enjoy improved throttle response, mpg, and slightly more power. :p

my G runs pretty rich when stock... not enough to have carbon buildup on the rear bumper, but my mpg shows.

Museum District/ West University area. The way the streets are set up, every driveway has a very steep approach. Broke both fender liners getting in and out of the driveway. Even with the lift back to stock, I have to back out of my driveway. Just cracked the right fender liner by taking to steep of an approach into the driveway last week.

The crowning blow came when I hit an uncovered access hole (mini manhole), blew a tire and cracked all the paint on the front bumper when the car slammed to the ground and caught a ripple in the street. That was on Bissonnet between Kirby and Buffalo Speedway.

This is the reason I stay away from Houston! Every road I've been on has been horrible in the 350.

YES. although im a bit worried. i purposely left it in low gears while sitting in mild traffic this morning. ambient temp is about 60-65 degrees and in 3rd, revving around 3-4k by the time i got to work (20miles) my oil temp was just about 180-190 degrees. normally id easily be at the 220 mark by now. should i be worried about it being so cool?

During the week, the lot is full all the way back to where I parked my Z! It's crazy! Oh, and nobody give a hoot about other vehicles. I have witnessed so many guys backing their truck into a spot until they nudge the car behind them. :shakes head:

Used to live down there. Roads are all horrible. Westheimer and Richmond are the worst lol. Moved up north a out of the loops, much smoother roads.

hi mr.alcheng- yah, for some reason when im motoring, i do encounter quite a bit of priarse in my area.

hey, my nightvision camera is setup now in my garage. :p i can tilt/pan/talk/listen via my smartphone.
not sure why i need to talk to my car, but hey just in case...

For the record, I respect Mr.kenchan too much for me to disrespect his property like that. Now some of the other people on this forum.... ;)

I like the night vision camera setup. All controllable via smartphone is wicked!

GoodAM everyone! :hello:

GoodAM Mr.kenchan, agree on the no-need drop for Z.

I had a slightly different experience on drop when I was driving the bmw where it gave me some serious issues on both F&R cambers, well, rear camber arm and front camber-plate solved the problem but 4-wheel alignment had to be done all the time and the tires were feathered like crazy... :icon14:

Same reason as Mr.gurny stated, I feel the ride on the Z is firm enough for DD, no point to stiffen it or lower it for now... :icon17:

Or function over form? LOL, I think he is kind of both, but definitely ken-san has a very high standard/demand.

Luckily I am not his optician... :ugh2: jk jk :bowrofl:

No, like me, he drives where you destroy your car if you are dropped. I went back to stock suspension after incurring over $1,500 in damage.

In this case, it's function over form, or better yet, common sense over vanity.

Good morning all! :tiphat:

My lowered bmw didn't get me a $1500 damage physically on the car itself, but the extra $$$ I spent on replacing tires+camber arm+camber-plate+4-wheel alignment is about that amount.... :icon14:

I am sitting here, farting around on the forum, drinking coffee, eating banana nut bread and looking out the window to Battle Lake in the backyard. One last thing to do here before I go home -- taking care of 200 rounds of .40 over at the farm with my brother in law (FBI guy) and cousin. This particular Monday is not so bad.

dude... they pay you to do all this!!!! :bowrofl: :bowrofl:

hey there, mr.alcheng! my Z's my weekend fun car and i still dont feel necessary to change the suspension. it's one thing to tighten it up to your liking, but another to just drop and stiffen it up for cosmetics. if it's a dressup car, then by all means do wat you want to make the car look nice. or if it's a pos car that needs improvement.

most often, such cars go slower due to skipping tires, discomfort, slower engine rev-up due to larger vibrations, and abs noise during hard braking. will also throw off your yaw control which you can't turn off during throttle up. the Z's stock suspension is more than capable for street and the stance is fine so not worth compromising or spending my time on it.

what really cracks me up are folks that say these things yet they drive around with inferior/junk tires with wrong offset wheels while racing their dropped z aka 'race car' in their heads. lol :rofl2:

not at all, you are in a good operating range.. I sit around 190 when not boosting, and around 200-210 when in boost a lot

omg.. did you contact the city? that kind of stuff should be paid for by the city... I know when I was in Tucson, a few of my airmen had some issues with crappy city roads and the city paid for their repairs...

but I know what you mean.. I have to drive really slow, and at a rediculous angle to get in my drive way

Just dropped my 08 270 6mt/sport off with rob at Z-car garage in San Jose. Installing JWT clutch, dual pop chargers and full Berk HFC and exhaust with an uprev tune over the next few days!!! Parts have been on back order a few weeks and I am dying to feel and hear my new mods.

ordered up a windcutter today for my tascam. :p the factory windscreen that the recorder came with failed my wind test over the weekend. got saturation at 45mph with driver side window rolled (the recorder placed on center console just behind the cubby lid). :) i drive with the window down in the cooler months so i need it to withstand at least 55mph.
