Cool little town. No wood chipper incidents. Everyone is so friendly!
Even spotted a 370Z downtown.

Back to whatever I call my normal life here at home until next week.
Might even use my AK... I mean drive my Z. I think it's gonna be a good day.

Glad to hear you stayed out of the wood chipper

Also about to put down a deposit on 3piece forged wheels :o defintely most expensive mod to date...and I'm supposed to be in "debt repayment mode" but couldn't resist.

Nice! What wheels did you decide on?

Today it was 100 degrees here so I removed my dealer sticker. EVERY LETTER was a seperate piece, plus a line separating the dealer name from "NISSAN" and two letters in a circle. :shakes head:

A few squirts of naphtha, a little polish, and some quick detailer, and all evidence is gone. :happydance:

Then I put another 50 miles on the car. It needs to be washed... My deionizer thingy is supposed to be here tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to get it all cleaned up and looking sharp this weekend.

dang, sounds like a PITA!! good job, davey! yah definitely use deionizer with hard water. luckily for me my water isn't too bad so i can wash even in the sun if it's not toooo strong. like summer day sun is too strong but spring/fall no issue. i try to wash my G in the late afternoon since my driveway is in the shade.

well i was about to make some serious purchasing at Z1 motorsports, but I took a big hit in my stocks and had less money than expected.

However, once I sort that mess out the next mods are as follows:

Oil cooler kit
Hood dampers
Rear Camber arms/Toe Bolts
Shift knob
Sway bar

sorry to hear about the stock situation. :( hope you find that investment to net something back!

are you having issues with oil temps? ive not had one issue even during the hot summer days. the only thing i use is mobil1 silver cap and factory oil filter. :icon17: and i drive pretty spiritedly at times.

so you're already lowered then?

Yeah I hope so too that equals more $ for the Z

Oil temps I dont have too many issues but on our spirited cruises they do get up to 240. Its less because of oil temp issues and more for general safety and to protect the engine. From what I read the optimal temps are 180-200 after that there will be slight bogging down, after 220 especially. One day I may also decided to track or autocross it so I'll definitely need one then.

Since I want to keep the car a long time, I figure it's a good investment. I use red line oil , and it did help keep the temps maybe 5 degrees lower.

Well the story with the lowering is that because my CPA exam swallows my time :ugh2:. The swifts springs are in my garage, and I'll just wait to get camber arms and install it all at once.

i see... huh, i didnt know the engine was programmed for 180-200. im usually around 220 range during my drives. no issue bogging yet, but heat does take away some power especially after a long stop waiting for the freight train to pass or something. my IAT's like 130F+ by that time. :icon17: on a typical summer day my IAT's only about 9-11F higher than ambient.

ahh, so you're going to be ready to have a new setup when you're done with your CPA stuff.

which reminds me... i need to get my G's alignment soon. i hit a pretty big bump the other day on the road from all the heat where the asphalt raised up like 5-6inches. wasn't expecting that.

Yes I'm usually at 220 myself during normal driving. by bogging down I mean it seems the heat causes worse response from the engine almost like there is slightly less power. I keep forgetting to log my IATs but I think I will next drive I do.

And yes once CPA is complete I will buy somethign :happydance:

ahh, yah, my other cars including my G is softer when temps are high. basically the air is less dense with oxygen and humidity makes it worse.

when i had my old wrx it was terrible. i suppose i couldve played with closed-loop map... that was like 10yrs ago. :icon17: actually that was the car that made me realize there's no substitute for displacement. my G has really no issue in the summer day. a tad softer, but not weak like 4banger turbo's.

hey thanks! :D yah, im pretty happy with how it turned out.

i tried some photoshop to change the finish to other colors like gunmetal, black, etc but on these wheels the factory color seems to have the most pop.

when i changed to darker colors, the wheels looked kinda cheap. :ugh2: i will let my Weds do the dark wheel theme. :icon17: hahaha.
