A slow leak is the worst because its hard to notice. I one time threaded my oil filter incorrectly and when I started the car it dumped oil all over my driveway. I obviously shut it off ASAP but cleaning up the spill and buying new oil wasn't fun. The motor was fine though thankfully, so hopefully everything will work out with your car as well. Good luck.
