so after editing on imovie i realized how easy it is to import audio into the video. i also played with several mics to see how well i can 'improve' the sound over the built-in mic of the gopro.

the mic input regardless of which mic you use (internal or external) on the Hero2 sucks. it has a bad ringing high-pitched noise floor that apparently gopro does not know how to get rid of. for external mic, input level is too low, SNR is crap unless i increase gain using pre-amp or place mic next to something super loud like a muffler.

so, im going to begin using my portable tascam digital recorder and sync it on imovie for short clips.

That's also recommended when using your HD DSLR camera for video. GJ
