Some hoses have what looks like a cheap coating. I'm talking about some of the red hoses I've seen have a very wet look them.

Morning, ppl

Going to go play in a memorial golf tourney we set up for my Dad.

Lot of emotions. Wish me luck.

Alchemy 05-06-2012 08:46 AM

Ok, grabbed a little clip from my mic testing yesterday. This is my friend driving (who loves old muscle cars) for the first time. I was super suprised that all he did was talk about how much he loved it all afternoon after his drive. At the begining you can hear a slight exhaust rattle so I didnt totally eliminate the prob but it was much worse. Thats the only time it made a noise yesterday though. Enjoy.

Its hard to explain but basically I took the hotshoe mount off of it and stuck the screw down through the hole that is under the non functional rear fog. The plastic clip that used to be there got lost somewhere along the way. Then I just thread the mic on. I know my explaination is confusing so Im gonna go outside in a min and take a pic for ya. Oh and my vacation will be taking place in NC/TN at ZDAYZ!!!!

Good morning everyone:hello:

Hey alchemy, yes I was referring to mounting to somewhere on the car, my preference would have been in the cabin on a headrest camera mount bar. You did answer it in another way with the hot shoe adapter from X-grip. Plus you gave me an idea on mounting on the underside rear backup light.

Rep coming your way.

The adapter slid through the hole below the "butthole" and screwed together

Repped :tiphat:

Oh, were you speaking of where to mount the GoPro or the mic? I mounted the mic in the rear as shown then I also have a 25ft mic extension cord. I ran that up into my trunk, thru the car and out the drivers side door. From there tucked it into the hood and plugged it into my GoPro which was on my hood attatched with the suction cup mount. In reality I can mount the camera anywhere I want though:tup: Did you see the quick vid I posted?? It will give you a great idea of how good the setup sounds:tup:

I still don't actually have one but have been contemplating what to get for the Z. Right now, I'm thinking the AVIC 120BT (it will be a great present for the wife's 30th birthday this summer), but I have not researched plans for the next model or when it will come out.

My friend put the AVIC 110BT in his Jeep SRT8 and found out that he could immediately do a firmware update via USB stick to get all the features of the newest model, which at the time was the 120BT. The only hardware difference is the HD tuner added in the 120BT. When the 130BT came out it was only software upgrades - another firmware upgrade and he was basically running the 130BT minus HD tuner. The forum support for AVICs is very good, and the firmware update is hacked and posted in torrent form by a member of the forum, I believe.

Again, I can't say anything as to the use of it with Android devices.

So I didn't make it to Cars & Coffee in Leander today cause I was supposed to go to brunch. However, wife was too hungover, didn't want to go, and so I had the Z to myself for the day  :driving:

Picked up some things at Lowe's and then went to the grocery store (I love using the Z to transport $180 worth of groceries :icon17:) After putting away said groceries, I headed out again, this time to Petsmart and then, after a stop by the office, I ended up at my buddy's place. Right as I'm about to leave, I get roped into helping him reinstall his gas tank into his suburban parked on the black asphalt in 95 degree Texas heat (he replaced the fuel pump and sending unit and the whole tank was sitting on his front porch when I walked up) :ugh2: Remind me never to uninstall my gas tank :rofl2: What a ******* ****** *****!! We finally get it hooked up and don't hear the fuel pump  It was a fuse... better safe than sorry though, it was good preventive maintenance to ensure the fuel pump doesn't crap out on a long trip randomly. He had another fuse in his center console and it worked immediately. Oh well, he'll more than make it up to me when I start asking for help with major work on either car.
