What kind of weirdness? User error is often a problem with humans.

I was up on the 130 Toll and they were down on 685 going into Hutto so I couldn't see any stickers. I saw what I thought was a Z first, so I kind of sped up to look over the ridge and saw the GTR come around the corner. The silver gave it away, it was so shiny .

Well I was going no more than 20mph on the road leading up to the parking area and the car seemed to almost stop then lurch forward like it wanted to speed up and then almost stop again. But it all happened so quick, my foot was probably not all the way on the accelerator as I was focused on making a right hand turn into the parking lot and still thinking about that damn GTR. I'll probably take it around the block around lunch time to see if I can replicate it.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I don't drink coffee… so I have one less chance to 'meet' that kind of 'Coffee A$$-O'… lucky me… :icon17:

Mr.kenchan, are you using the mic/digital-recording for in-cabin recording?? I am not sure the problem you have with your previous setup is from the mic or the gopro itself, but does the mic noice-cancellation feature??

Click this one, might be useful ==> Olympus_145055_ME_52W

Opie and I are on the mend. He is all stitched up and got his teeth worked on yesterday -- we are in for $1,400 so far, but the owner of Cujo is paying, which is the least he can do. He's a nice guy and highly cooperative, so it's hard to be pissed at him. Plus he's a photographer by trade (even though he's a Nikon guy which does not make him a bad person necessarily).

Thanks also to everyone who extended their best wishes for Opie. He's a great little guy and just wants everyone to get along.

hello, mr.alcheng! yes, im using the digital recorder for in-cabin recording. :) it's just a limitation of the hero2's audio input. there's just no comparison when you have a dedicated audio recorder. it is a night/day difference.

the setups i tried was:
a. gopro built-in mic - terrible sound, but okay for video.
b. gopro mic input using several mics - low sensitivity, too much noise.
c. gopro mic input using mic + preamp - sound is better, but hero's limter/filter, etc activates... and me being a music guy, it doesn't sound good to me.

d. gopro built-in mic to use as sync reference track + audio recorder =

Mr.kenchan, you can check out that Olympus mic, the feedbacks are good and it doesn't cost too much, I think it will work very good with the hero's limiter/filter being OFF.

I agree the (d) you use give the best result, but isn't it a but clumsy to have to start/stop two different machine at the same time and the editing afterward?? (I'm an optical guy, you know, so all these post editing sounds like space-tech stuffs.to me… like your Z cabin… LOL :icon17:)

thanks for the link. it's not the mic, it is the Hero2's input that is the gating item. that mic in your link is a mono, i think. hero2's uses stereo input so the mics i tried were all 2 mics built into one mic housing. :)

if the vid is going to be used as a blackbox (my primary use) no need to have the audio recorder onboard. i only plan on doing these vid edits with audio when im taking the car out to somewhere new or some special occasion.

do you know any good small cameras that have steady-cam like feature?
my Flip camera is hard to take steady shots while walking.

im thinking about making that monopod handle for my gopro soon, but also looking at getting a second camera to do rolling shots of my z from my wife's car. gopro would work well, but also want to look at other options.

I'm not sure why the lights out at 2300 was a problem if you're working in a darkroom :rofl2:

How did that line work out for you? ;)

UNKNOWN_370 06-06-2012 10:46 AM

Last night I was in my 370z taking my wife to pic up a couple of things. There was a new blue gencoupe in front of me. Very nice shade of blue. It was almost violet. The car was spotless. So we cross intersection 1. And are heading to the next light. In between those lights was another street with a stop sign. There was a lot of traffic on the road going south. We were headed north on the road and traffic was clear. We we're both doing about 30 in a 35, maybe a little slower actually. The south lanes left the intersection open at the stop sign so traffic can pass... well, this Silver Gencoupe Plowed into the brand new blue gencoupe. It was horrendous. The silver gencoupe had to be coming at 40 to 45 miles per hour. Who comes out of an intersection stop sign that fast???? I couldn't see if he ran it cuz traffic blocked my view... Both gencoupes went barreling into 180 degree spins. I slammed on the brakes to avoid the gencoupe dance... then I pulled over to see if the guy in the blue car was ok. No one was hurt thank goodness I gave him and the cops my info as a witness. I really felt bad for the guy. He had his gen for a month. Beautiful ride in that color.

Out of all the cars to get hit by... he hadda get hit by another gencoupe. Gens aren't as rare as 370's out here but are pretty rare in comparison to all the other sports cars. Those odds were slim for the area. Then I thought... how would I feel if I got slammed by another 370z? Lol. Id probably NOT BUY another 370. Id feel betrayed. Lol. I'm just glad it wasn't me. I was one car away. Had that happen to my baby last year. Don't need it again.

kenchan 06-06-2012 10:51 AM

wow, that sucks to the blue gencoupe guy. :(

I work out in the morning, too. I either do a P90X routine or run around 6:30 AM. Morning is actually the best time to work out, especially if you're trying to burn fat. You burn everything that your body stored over night.
