I would drive whichever car made people angrier.

Honestly. If it comes down to looks I feel the mustang looks better than the camaro on the inside and out. And yes that's a big part of my decision making process.

I will openly admit that I am not a Camaro fan. I won't willingly give The General my money. But if someone gave me a ZL1 for free I wouldn't necessarily sell it, either. ;)

No, the mustang has some rudimentary 2-setting system and the ZL1 has a real-time 100x per second adaptive system the likes of which Ferrari borrowed from GM as well.
And yes we've gone over the IRS vs the SRA.

All things being equal the IRS is a more desirable suspension, but all things aren't equal. The ZL1 has a significant weight disadvantage, less power and lower top speed.
How many times have you broken 180mph? What percent of your driving is at this speed or greater?
What are muscle cars built for? The quarter mile- advantage GT500. On the track I bet they will be close. Just because on paper the IRS is a better suspension doesn't mean the the camaro still doesn't need to slow way down because of its weight. The same weight that will effect the camaro's acceleration out of the turns.

Lets take a look at just how slow that Camaro comes out of corners...

No denying that. I hate the look of the new Camaro.

Ummm...isn't that the point? Rivalry? It sells cars for both sides and helps our busted economy. So pick a side and run with it.

How many times have I been on a track? 0

How many curvy roads and in El Paso? 0

Handy many times have I beat some dude off a traffic light? Plenty

I wouldn't really call the Camaro a muscle car. It's trying too hard to be all things. Having said that the ZL1 will be a very nice car.

IRS makes for a nicer ride and a bit better handling. I have IRS in my Challenger. The problem is strength. I've got DSS Level 5 axles in the Challenger (1400HP axles) so I can launch it hard at the strip. That's something the SRA Mustang hasn't had to worry about.

I agree on this point big time. GM coulda done a much better job on the Camaro's body design. The interior of the one I test drove was atrocious.

The 2012 GT500 I drove was VERY nice. I almost traded my Challenger for it......Almost. The Challenger is the best looking of the three hands down if you want a muscle car. The interior is nice and old school as well.

This was the GT500 I test drove. LOVED IT! It was marked down from $54K to $47K. Had the Recaro seats and everything.

A few shots of the Challenger. Feels really old school driving it around.

I told my friend with a 600hp SVT Cobra, his car is fast and it'd beat almost anything on the road, but you'll never see me behind the wheel of a mustang. Ever.

That is the SLP ZL1 package.

Thanks for clarification. I was wondering if that was the difference. Guess there just isn't enough info on Chevy's version on ZL1. I assume it's not a supercharged car and will not be that fast in comparison. If it's not at least a 0-60 in 3.5 and 12.2 quarter mile it will be a waste @ $56,000. That's if it really comes out at $56K.
