I even power shift on the way to the grocery store. Not sure what the BFD is.
![]() But seriously, I had always heard that coasting in neutral at highway speed causes excessive wear on transmission components. Wrong?

I try to avoid coasting in neutral now unless I'm coming to a stop at a light cause I noticed whoever said this was correct, how the car uses more gas in neutral then in gear while coasting. I checked this out for myself when I used the real-time gas gauge and noticed anytime I was off the gas in gear, the mpg was always 60. When in neutral, it's jumping all over the place.
