What's the worst that could happen?

I really want to start getting my feet wet in the racing world but want to limit the damage I could do to the Z until it's paid off. As a result HPDE's are not an option yet as hitting wall or the likes is not a risk I'm willing to take. I was thinking about looking into doing some autocross however.

Now I know these events are generally held in large parking lots, etc., so would it be safe to assume that body/structural damage is extremely unlikely?

I did. Only for point by passing but this is perfect for getting your feet wet. You can even insure your mods.

Depends on the lot. Go search YouTube for autocross crashes. This is a favorite...

I remember another w/ a 350Z that was hauling *** and flew up over a curb, and into a tree...

That looked painfully expensive for 30mph crash. What did he do? Gas it and slam on the brakes. That was weird.....Ouch +2
