Top of this forum has a Sticky thread for engine oil temperatures. That should answer most of your questions. As for your dipstick finding and the quakerstate, perhaps someone else has an idea. The quakerstate is definitely not one of the oils most people have been discussing on this site, but if it meets the manual guidelines for oil specs it should theoretically be fine.
