Those of you who have had Steering Lock Failure

My 2010 40th Anniversary went out yesterday. I'm around 38,000-40,000 miles. I'm told I'm outside my warranty (36,000) and it will cost of over $1,000.

My "steering lock control unit" went out, that is.
