I pointed out the prob to the tech. Then we sat in a brand new Z so he could feel how the trans is supposed to be. He admitted something wasnt right so he is looking into it. They said they would be callin back this afternoon w further details.

Hopefully this doesn't keep dragging on like this.

It worries me that so many people are having transmission problems. With my limited annual mileage I may not drive enough to cause a problem while i'm under the powertrain warranty.

I had similar problem with Nissan and my 350Z so I installed a B&M short shifter and adjusted the stop as recommended by B&M. You put the car in fifth gear and use a feeler gage to gap it properly. Too much issues, too little issues. For kicks I reset the factory manual tranny shifter using the same technique. It shifted better .... but, not as good and the B&M short shifter. When I regapped it with the stock shifter almost all the knotchiness went away. The short shifter was so much sweeter though !
