This happened to my G once. The issue was a dirty throttle body.

Ok, so I got my Evo-R diffuser mounted today, and for the most part I'm ecstatic!

I'll post some full pics when I have time but something I noticed after the install is a slight paint bubble on the top of the piece. I will probably be the only person that ever notices it, but it kinda bugs me.

What would you do? Require it to be repaired, or don't bother?

Make them fix it for sure. Don't accept paying for a service that is not performed to expectations. That actually is a pretty big defect and should have been noticed by the body shop.

Yesterday after dinner I did not have the energy to go back to the garage and finish the ART pipes. Good thing to becuase the forum member that I got them from included two crush gaskets that Tony from Motordyne let me know would not work with his ART pipes. If I pushed forward I would have had an exhaust leak. The problem though is that it is raining and cold today so I do not want to be in the garage plus I had a long day work and my body is sore from wrenching all weekend so no completion of the project today. Hope the storm clears out tomorrow so I can get this baby finsihed.

Plan B is to take it to Taylor's (my other son) shop over in Davis, but this presents a couple of challenges. First, the owner is not as loosey-goosey with the shop rates as Colin's and I will pay more. Note that they have a very sweet alignment rack there that more easily accommodates lowered cars than Colin’s does.

Second, they are not open on weekends at all so it would require calling in "sick" one day. Then I will feel guilty the rest of the day for calling in "not feeling well" and our company policy does not have a provision for Paid Time Off for Koni's. They should, God knows, but they do not.

Plan C is to do them myself, but it would have to be in my garage and without a lift. I would have to go for an alignment anyway when completed.

So there you go. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments and, as always, have a great day.
I say wait for your boy's hand to heal. It's a win-win. He's happy because he gets to help his dad, and he feels better because you waited for him even though he knows how much you wanted to put them on. Next, you don't have to feel guilt over taking a Paid Time Off for Konis day!

So there you go. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments and, as always, have a great day.

I'm glad you questioned it, and got a resolution. What I'm curious about is how'd you end up with the wrong part to begin with? Did the forum member hook you up with new crush gaskets, and accidentally purchased the wrong ones?

Aah, yeah. That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm going to give them a call/pay them a visit tomorrow and get this straightened out. They guarantee their work, and they are a major chain so it shouldn't be an issue. Besides, if they want continued business from me, (which I've already tale to them about) they will make it right.

A full update on my video yesterday:

I went to Laguna Seca for a 2-day driving school with the BMW GGC club, it went pretty great. It rained the first half of day 2, but otherwise decent weather. I was worried about the car as the first time I tracked it, everything went wrong (oil temp, fuel starvation, stock brakes overheated and burned out so badly they stopped working entirely and I had to limp home with the e-brake..), but the upgrades seemed to fix everything

I'm running the stoptech slotted rotors and pads now, and there was *maybe* a tiny bit of fade on one lap, but otherwise were perfect. With the oil cooler my temps were about 220F on the track (160F highway) so nowhere near limp mode. My new sway bars are still at the softest setting, but it did seem to be noticeably flatter in the corners.

I'm pretty happy to know my Z can handle a track day now Can't wait for the next one.

Past few months I've been driving around my damaged 370z with a scrap rear bumper and a huge dent in my front bumper near the corner of the fangs. Last Thursday I finally brought it into a shop, a really ghetto one, but i have done business with him before on my IS300, so I trusted him. I finally got it back this evening, and he did amazing job. Fixed my dent, repainted my blacked out fangs, and repainted my whole rear bumper. I wish I did a before and after cause he did an amazing job.

I can't believe you didn't take the requisite five minutes to snap some pictures!

Oh well, glad your ride is looking great again! Let's see some pics of it now!

Hey Kenman. The dealer said it could be up to 10 weeks. They only started making them 1/26/2012. If it isn't in by ZdayZ I'll be driving the Z there. If it does come in I will still be at ZDayZ with the ZL1. I'm already looking at pulleys and tune to make 630hp vs 580hp stock. The car I ordered is red with black stripe kit, black rims, suade steering wheel and shifter, sunroofand 6mt.

hey happy, that bubble can be sanded/filed off and polished...but yah, that's not acceptable in my book. i would take it back or fix it. not sure wat glue they used but hope it's removable...otherwise it will be a biotch to file that off in that small gap without scratching.

I put a box, filled with slot car stuff, in the trunk that would not allow closure. With about 3-4 inches exposed I drove off. I noticed a slight exhaust smell so I rolled down the windows. Bad idea, it brought in more exhaust than before. Driving slowly helped with smell. Driving faster with windows down was more fun.

This reminded me of my 280Z going down a hill on the freeway. Ah memories.

It was affixed with 3M. How much of a problem is that going to be?
