cool. one thing to note on the Griot's clay is you need to make sure you have plenty of lube on the paint before you glide. otherwise the clay is so soft it will leave smear marks on the paint. it's not a big deal cause you can remove the smear with the clay but just a hassle.

the cheezo meguiar's QD with its standard misty sprayhead does very well with the Griot's clay. even better than using Griot's own QD (speedshine).

Yah I think I recall hearing you say that it's so soft that it smears.. No biggie though if it's easy to clean up with a mf cloth.

Good morning all.

I'm detailing as well today.

Happy, I would use the same points where the yellow arms are, too. Look under there and you'll see a placeholder for the jack's contact point. Just place a jack stand under each point and you'll be good to go.

noticed the outside treads of my tires were wearing out a lot faster than the inside so dropped the car off ta the dealership to get the alignment/camber looked at since it's still free under warranty. Let's see what they say. Outside treads of my rears are close to or at 2/32, whereas the center ranges form 4/32 to almost 6/32 further in. Wonder if the outer tread means it's tire replacement time coming soon...

That is an odd wear pattern. If it were me, I would replace the tires after you confirm the alignment is hunky-dory. 2/32" anywhere on the tire is the "go" signal for new shoes.

Let me know if you need or want tire recommendations -- as it turns out, I have a tire in mind for you.

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure everything was clear. Probably go to Costco and see about ordering some re-11s while they have their $70 off. It just sucks because the tread is so good on other parts of the tire. The fronts range form 4/32 on the outside to mor eon the inside but I'll probably replace the whole set so I am not running mismatched tires in terms of grippiness. I wonder if they would be willing to give me a little extra neg camber there in the rear or if they will only set it to stock specs (assuming it's stock spec now, and getting em that outside wear). If everything checks out, then the only thing I can think of is my 1.5 track days, but I can't believe they would make that big of a diff (the .5 hardly counts, not so much agressvie driving that day) plus that 1 real track day was my first ever, so I doubt I was really pushing the car to its limit.

I have heard that the tread life on the RE-11 is not very good. You may be looking for new shoes @ 10k. I'm just sayin'

I have a sneaking suspicion what that tire recommend will be. You sir are a true man of mystery!

Thaks for the intro, Mr. Happy.

I guess I have to say it:

Micheling Pilot Super Sports -- read what everyone on the forum says about them - it is true. I am over 11,000 miles on mine, they have a great deal of tread left (6 to 7/32) and they perform better that anything I have ever used, hands down. I know the RE-11 gets great reviews as well, but I am pretty sure the Michelins will outlast them.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!

As planned, I did a brief photo shoot yesterday morning,

I just uploaded the photos on my laptop and have to make some adjustment like cropping and contrast, as minimum as possible cos I hate photoshop pictures...

Here are three of them just want to let you guys take a look, any comments are welcome

I cannot answer the track question through my own experience as I do not track my car. I do, however, drive it very hard in a wide range of weather and road conditions. It is near impossible to get the Michelins to break loose and I have tried. They grip supernaturally.

**** DISCLAIMER ****

Please note that I make every attempt to drive within posted speed limits and well within the boundaries of prudence for whatever weather/traffic conditions in which I find myself. Attempts to break traction were not performed on public roads.

LOL…… Good eyes Mr.GaleForce That's a perfect place for photo shoot especially with some condos around it.

I really like the effect made by the polarized filter on the color of the blue sky.
