Good morning Zman and Mr. Onzedge! :hello:

Hey Kenchan, your buddy Alex did right by me as far as pricing goes. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait until the 14th for them to arrive at their distribution point in GA.

Morning Happy!

Hello, Mr. Happy!!!

Tonight I think I'm going to move forward with getting me some Dr. Colorchip. I figure it this way.....I can't make it look worse, right? :ugh2:

Oh yeah, looking to purchase a good radar detector for my wife. I told her to either go with a V1 or a Passport 9500ix. Now the Passport has some kind of subscription service that integrates a bluetooth connection to your android/iphone with vital information. Hmmm, maybe the Passport will be the way to go.

Any thoughts on that? I know...there's tons of threads on this stuff...I was just curious about the general opinion.

I am thinking about doing that also. When I was waxing the nose of the 370 on Sunday, there are many little chips.

You can count me in, too. :) Chips on the nose.

Dr. Colorchip has the KAV paint for the 40th.

kenchan 03-20-2012 10:36 AM

happy- GL with the dr.chip! i have 2 indentations on my bumper i've not had a chance to fix yet.

in my case one is like this hugegangeous 2mm crater with a lip around the indentation so i need to cut that off, fill and apply touchup. will be an all-weekend event. :icon17:

 Yeah I saw. I did research for it about 2 weeks ago. My only debate is should I do it now or wait until after summer when Im ready to put it back into storage.

kenchan 03-20-2012 10:38 AM

zman- should do it now while temps are warmer. and maybe clearbra?

Yeah I looked into clearbras 2 years ago when I got the car but for some reason I just didn't like the way they look. plus when you take it off i read about paint being different color underneath where it was.

I know you can do full hood wrap so it's not visible but that gets pricey.

After 2 years my Z has 7700 miles and maybe 4 dings in the front. I'm not sure if it's worth it. Dr. Colorchip kits are pretty cheap.

Can anyone chime in on their experiences. I want people who have had it for few years not the ones that just got it.

if you get high quality bra it shouldn't discolor under the paint at all. i treat clearbra like part of the paint (wax/sealant, etc). i too only have 2chips in the last 2.5+yrs with about 8500miles so i dont plan on doing clearbra either. :)

i do have clearbra along the side of the rockers though as my front tires kickup. im going to be re-doing that later this spring.
