Engine specs are steel crank (suspect but don;t know whether it was sourced from Cosworth), based on VQ35 block with Steel (Carillo?) rods and bespoke forged pistons. Engines originally built by Graeme dal Smith who used to own IES Engineering in the UK, but he sold out of that several years ago. He has Nissan motorpsorts knowledge going back to the 1990's

The trick to getting hi-power is hi-compression which means you need trick (F1 type) fuels.

Found the official entry list. Yes, the two 370Z's are being fielded by RJN of the UK. No engine specs but they list their displacement as 3.8L, so they may either be running the GT-R block or a custom crank shaft.

The 1 GT-R entry is by JRM, also out of the UK. Displacement is listed as 3.8L as well so this looks like a traditional turbo set up.

Interesting. I doubt it would be from increasing bore since I doubt there's much left between the cylinders. You guys should work for Scotland Yard.

Yeah the GT-R block has the same bore, just different slightly different stroke. There really isn't much room for bore expansion as you've pointed out, the VQ37 is only 2.5mm wider bore than the VQ30.

It is provisional, so theoretically they could add a driver. The cars are locked in however.

could be the Z33 380rs crankshaft since that was pretty much made for racing as it was with the traditional 95.5mm bore and enough stroke for 3.8L. it made 350hp @ 7200rpm in race trim (assuming race gas) so it could theoretically get close to 400 if reved up and over 8k rpm without loosing much torque

According to Graeme dal Smith, they are now running 370Z stroke crank (86mm) courtesy of Cosworth and 96.0mm bore to give 3.73 litres. With the VQ30 heads they get 13.2:1 compression. This is all based on the NISMO 380RS Type C Z33 race car specs - just installed in Z34 chassis.

Doesnt surprise me. Most all race cars are running older technology top ends from other VQ series motors. The heads in VQ37 are a problem from what I hear. They generate too much heat at racing RPM levels.
