Of course. - but if you have the need to carry one. Things must not be so well, that you have to choose to carry one. But then again like you said. It is people's choice.

There is no reason to lump law-abiding, responsible gun owners into the same category as irresponsible gang members

I live in NY. It's easier to get pot holes fixed than get a CC. And forget about anything over 1 round in a "mag"...

But you don't have to have a concealed carry license to be a responsible gun owner. You can own a gun in NY as long as you register it; Unrestricted Carry license requires that you demonstrate a need for the security. Texas, as you can imagine, is a bit less strict. It is perfectly legal for me to carry in my car even without a Concealed Handgun License.

Without a doubt a lot of it has to do with state laws and how local police dept react. But I use to carry a GBB M14 airsoft rifle and GBB M1911 S-TAC in my car. Both had clearly visible orange tips and were fully dismantled for transport. I was pulled over and handcuffed for 2 hours because the cops thought they were real and me not having my license on me to carry a firearm.
