Oil to water is usually implemented as a u-channel by the filter, where they cool the oil using the radiator water. The s2000 used this setup.

-Base model Z's will ship with an oil-to-water cooler, as previously speculated (can't remember who said that?)

-sport package models will be available with 19 row coolers standard, and a 34 row updgrade available. No pricing is confirmed yet, but they mentioned the upgrade should be under $500. Sport package cost will most likely be raised as well, though it is not known for sure yet that it will be

-Increased sound deadening material. They won't advertise it substantially, but they attempted to quiet down the road noise just a little bit

-adjusted intake resonator-- apparently designed to help quiet the NVH concerns

-Nismo finned diff cover will be standard--apparently the bean-counters finally understood the risks of an overheating diff, and are at least making the appearance of an effort to fix things

-Brake ducting will be available through the fangs as an add-on kit. It was apparently supposed to offered from the beginning, but a clean-looking kit was never fully finished. The genteman I spoke with was 99% sure it would be backwards-compatible.

-retrofit oil-to-water coolers will be available with full warranty protection. The oil-to-air coolers WILL NOT be available under warranty

-most importantly, your mother has grown frightful after your recent engagement at the schoolyard, and the cab is on it's way to pick you up for the trip to Bel Air.
I was with you up to the Nismo diff cover and then was like

I woud imagine a direct to air cooler would be better since it dumps the heat straight into the atmosphere as opposed to overloading the cooling system. Besides, you can get a larger surface area via a direct to air cooler as opposed to using the radiator's already existing area to vent more heat. Not to mention that cooling will be quicker due to greater temp differential between oil and air than between oil and radiator coolant.

The flip side is that cruising on the highway on a 30* morning will have your oil running way too cool. Very glad to see it's oil/water. Z06, ZR1, S2000, they all use/used it. It's good stuff. Creates a lot more stable environment re: oil temps.
