Yeah, if you read my post again, it says "I don't care if we get charged".

I read that, but you made it seem like this was something Nissan owes you. It's not.

they owe themselves to put the best product possible. As a 7 time nissan owner, if I showed them over $200,000 in loyalty. They can show me a warranty for a $700 part. Bimmer did the right thing with there custy's in 08. I'm not asking what hasn't been done before. So what's your beef?

That should be the case and honor warranty on those who have had a dealer install one and cover it as well. Wait Im talking about a corporation out for profit being fair again. I need a drink

Did any previous generation owners get mad reading this like I did?

Limp mode to me was an admission that they knew of the problem but did not want to spend the money to put an oil cooler on the car to fix it. Limp mode treats the symptom, not the problem.

I wouldn't say I'm mad ... a little amazed it took 3 model years to actually fix the problem and not just try to address the symptom. I guess that Nissan got tired of reading articles by major automotive magazines about how the car went into limp mode and thus couldn't compete in a car comparison or be fully evaluated.

For me, it's the greatest disappointment I have with the car. I'm disappointed with the fact that an owner of a 370Z can operate the car within Nissan's pre-determined acceptable range of engine RPM's, and yet the car may not be able to operate safely as it may have to invoke a "safe" limp mode.

I hadn't owned a Japanese car in 25 years until I bought the 370Z, and while I am impressed with how great of a car it is for the price, this is a bit disappointing. Perhaps I shouldn't expect so much.

I hope the dealers get the memo in there heads. I now see the service men not putting enough oil in cars due to a added cooler. Hell they can't even remember to tighten the drain plug in several cases.

I'm sure you guys must wonder why Nissan didn't engineer the VQ37 to have an oil cooler from the beginning. . .

It is good to see they have addressed the problem.

It just one of those things that got pushed out there IMO. The 350 got pushed out from a long absent and it had minor flaws and now the VVEL which most believe is the cause behind higher oil temps. A lot of this has to be kept in mind when considering the cost of the car and what your getting. Which I can defiantly more than live with. If Nissan address many issue I couldn't mod my car and it would be a 50k car.

Even though Nissan is adding a cooler it's mostly only going to be for DD or city driving. Which makes me wonder if Nissan is going to be using a heat exchanger for there setup which would be a big plus.

I am curious as to which size oil cooler will come standard.

That's why I was hoping it would be a bigger radiator with a heat exchanger. Then a couple of small heat issue could be helped. Then you wont have external cooler.

No. Would I have found value in waiting a year or more to finally enjoy my car. No. What is the delta between the MSRP 2009 and the 2012 when they were new? My oil cooler was $880 installed at the dealership. Less than a few dollars a day at worst.

I've gotten over it. I hope you can too.
