Installing it is pretty easy with some basic tools like a socket set etc. Both kits come with the "clamp type" taps, but it kept falling loose, so I soddered the wires together. Wraped it with some heat shrink and it's worked perfectly. It comes on/off with the rest of the lights so having a separate for the light alone isn't really a big deal. Most people would likely leave it on anyways. OP, if you have some basic mechanical skills, just do it yourself and save some cash. It just two wires, very difficult to mess up.
