Very upsetting day today......my poor z =[

(Sorry if i word my whole story bad, im in a state of anger and sadness...)

I wake up and saw massive rain this morning, but still decided to goto work. After a long day of work come back to my bus stop at Reston only to see my z and 20 other cars fully submerged under water..... It was the first time i parked on the other-side of the parking lot because i went to work late.....and well i just stood there in shock, watching my z roof and nothing else..I dont know whats going to happen, i have full coverage and gap insurance. My z was a year old and had less then 4500k miles....But the feeling of looking at the car underwater was so painful...i just had to say this somewhere..if anyone has any experience with flooded car please share...thanks =[

Damn dude, my girlfriend just called me to tell me about the Reston commuter lot. So sorry to hear... it's been so messy here lately with this rain. Thank goodness for insurance... they will take care of you. But damn... poor Z. :(

thanks guys, btw my car is in that brown pool of water...=[ i just got a full set of gt30 wheels for the car too...sigh...all the care i gave to that car only to be ruined by rain. What hurts me the most is that the car is under water, i think i cared too much for this car.

SkyZ 09-08-2011 05:51 PM

well if anything the wheels can be reused on ur new Z, and all the flaws and blemishes that this Z accumulated over the course of driving will all be gone with a shiny new one =]

Apoc370z 09-08-2011 06:17 PM

I thought its gonna be some thread about some dumbass crashing the Z while driving over 120 mph but damn...

Not to worry, like the others say, you will have a brand new one in no time. But then rumor has it that all japanese cars are water proof, so i am sure the Z is gonna be fine :D

Ok i will stop being an *******. Hope you get the new car soon

TWYNBYZ 09-08-2011 06:18 PM

I'm speechless :shakes head:

I hope everything works out for you.......

Sorry dude.
I lost my 350 to floodwaters, but I could have actually avoided it. I drove into the water. Late at night and I didn't know there was backed up water. My front lip caught the water and threw up a curtain of water that looked like Niagra Falls. I sucked water into my engine and killed it.

The best thing in your situation is that the car is totaled. DO NOT let insurance try to fix it. It is done. Trust me. You would have electronic problems forever if they tried to fix.

Remember though. It's just a car. It can be replaced with another Z. Cuz they're all sexy.

Rarely does this forum run into cases where the owner did not do anything. I know it hurts bro but hang in there, insurance will take care of you and life goes on. I know its easy for me to say but a lot of other people would be grateful if all they lost this rainy season on the east coast is their beloved car. Don't let them fix it and don't sweat it.

I was going to do a write up of my own but I can put it here since we are talking about water and our Z's. There I was driving into work in Tampa Flordia and yes it was raining but not hard. Driving down Bayshore Blvd which for anyone that knows about tampa is is a beautiful stretch of road right on the bay where you can see beautiful women running all day long. Well i was going south bound and it started raining very hard, i then began to see water gushing out of the water sewers and racing down the side roads like tidal waves coming at me. In less than 30 seconds the water rose at least a foot and a half, I was behind a big truck making waves, I could not turn around because of the center median, could not go on the side streets because of the water rushing in and could not go backwards, I tried to keep to the highest point and make it to somewhere higher but before I did the engine started to rev up and down on its own. finally it dies in about a foot of water. Ended up sucking up water into the intake. After waiting for 3 hrs on a tow I finally got it off the street. Inspection was a hole in the 5th cylinder wall, then the fun began fighting with the insurance. Their inspector took a week to get out the the shop and assumes since it was a sports car I was racing and reving the engine causing it to blow.:shakes head: Said something to the effect they could not find any foam in the engine oil when they pulled the dip stick. Fought with the insurance company for 3 weeks over this and finally had the shop pull the engine and break it down and told them to take pictures of any damage they found. when they drained the oil they found lots of water but no "foam". :icon14: they sent the pics and in less than an hour later the insurance called me saying they were going to fix it:nutswinger:, go figure, if I would have waited for them to make the decision to pull the engine I would still be without a car. and because they waited i had to have a new clutch and flywheel/ throttle body and alternator because of where it was setting for three weeks. All in all it cost the insurance 17,600 :eek:for a new engine and the other items as well as changing all of the fluids to be on the safe side. Now she is back with about 200 miles on the engine doing the whole breakin again. and that is my story and I am sticking to it. :ugh2:
