Well, when 7 out of every 10 trucks in town is a Dodge 1500.... it's bound to happen. Especially here in Oiltown. Money + Young Kids + Rig Work + "I own the world" Entitlement = douche

and thats how it should be, i dont think anyone needs to prove anything to anyone, at the end of the day, people drive the cars they drive cuz they want to drive it, so we should just respect everyones choice in cars and throw them a thumbs up if you like what you see!:)

Fewer people let me merge into traffic lines. They'll usually just ride the *** of the guy in front of them and have tunnel vision looking forward. Other than that I haven't had too much trouble.

I do that to just about everyone though, regardless of cars, when it's in rush hour. Moving over from the slow lane to the fast lane (or middle) isn't going to do **** for you when we're all moving 15mph. You're just putting me one car further back damn it! :icon17:

Then again, I've had so many people force their ways in, cut me off and not even apologize (a wave will do), cut me off and then get mad at me, because they cut me off... I say **** it, I'm no longer showing anyone any respect on the roadways.

Obviously that's when they or someone else upset me. I forget easily and usually do.

Though I hate when the person in front of me STOPS and lets someone in. Don't stop, ever, I don't care if we're going 15mph.

Yea for real. Although I fit the bill of some of those things... Young and here in oil town for work but I don't drive like a douche at all, I try and ignore the ram 1500s trying to race me all the time. Sometimes it really irritates me though

After driving the Wife's car yesterday it was apparent people do seem to drive faster around me when i'm in the Z, almost like they have to prove something...

You can probably already guess what I am about to say here, but its nothing really too extreme. This dude in a new M3 with a loud exhaust was trying to coax me into an impromptu drag race on PCH. Of course I don't bite since I regularly track my car so there is no need for me to speed on public roads, but it made me think about a$$hole-idiots like him. The ones who think they are great drivers with fast cars because they are willing to go 100+ mph on a public road (most of the time in a straight line). I often feel like telling them that they should head to the track to see how fast and talented they really are, but it isn't worth enough for me to engage people in that manner. So I, like in this situation, ignore the a$$hole-idiot and look forward to my next track day on 10/15 where I am sure there will be a host of M3 drivers just like him who can't seem to live up to all that talent they believe/wish they had.

The roads are FILLED with people who own more car/motorcycle than they could ever hope to drive/ride competently....to drive/ride the way the car/motorcycle was intended to be driven/ridden.

It's even worse in the realm of streetbikes....next time you see a GSX-R 1000 or an R1 take a look at the rear tire....I'd bet it's got chicken strips an inch and a half wide on both sides and a flat spot worn right down the middle.

Lots of "show"....tooling around town looking "cool" and hammering it in a straight line....or hanging around the local Sonic or coffee shop.....but very little "go"....actually putting the car/bike on the track and learning to DRIVE/RIDE it..they are street legal race cars/bikes being used to "pose" with in a lot of cases. *shrug*

Everyone is entitled to spend their money how they see fit...but...it does look pretty silly.

Lol this happened to me yesterday where some roadworks had 2 lanes into one- 3 cars were like nearly running into each other just to stop me getting into their lane. Still I'm one of those who believes in driving right up to the road cones and getting the last possible inch out of any lane before joining the queue...

Im not gonna say I havent drove reckless on the roads which I have...BUT...

to defend M3 drivers I will say that not all M3 owners are like that, my buddy has one, and he is usually the one that is pretty relaxed when we are out on cruises and etc. His M3 can easily pull on many cars that have tried to race him, but he doesnt budge. So you proabably had the unfortunate luck of finding one of the evil M3 drivers.:icon17:

nismochiq 10-04-2012 11:30 PM

YES!!! all of the above!!! it usually happens at night because they do not notice that I am a chick driving a Z. Sometimes during the day, I still get the civics, neons, trucks, and bikes that all want to cut me off. I do not understand this behavior nor condone to it because honestly I could care less what they do.

I would say I am a decent driver and much more improved since my first track day, but definitely not a pro and certainly still learning.

I agree. Generalizing this sort of behavior for all M3 drivers is a bit harsh. Its definitely the driver and not the car. Just seems more likely in an M3 (lol).

Like I said, he did nothing too extreme, but I do enjoy passing them on track (when I can of course). I also enjoy watching competent drivers drive cars like an M3 because they are very capable cars.

A bunch of us are going to Big Willow on 10/13/2012 with Extreme Speed if you're game.

haha. usually, all the cars would be a long way behind me, the way i drive
Then One day, this infiniti sedan was right behind me for a long time.
So, I checked out its specs on the internet. It turned out, the least powerful engine on that car was just as powerful as the 370z and the ones with more powerful engines would destroy our cars

I think you were looking at a m56 correct? If so, I think you are basing that it would destroy our cars just based on HP alone. Although the HP is higher for example, a 2012 M56 sedan has 5.6L V8 and is pushing close to 420 HP crank. Link-2012 Infiniti M56 Overview
note the M56 0-60 is 4.8 seconds.

As for the 370z (09 for example) an automatic has a 4.5 0-60 time. Link-Nissan 0-60 Times & Nissan Quarter Mile Times | Nissan Skyline GTR 0-60, Maxima 0-60, Altima SE-R, Murano, 350z, 2012 370z and 2011 Titan 0 to 60 stats!

And even for fun if you brought in the younger brother of the M, the G which was trailing you, into the equation, you are looking at 0-60 of 5.8 (5.4 on 0-60 times) seconds..Link-2012 Infiniti G Sedan Reviews, Pictures and Prices

I also used different sources for each car to insure there is no bias of one site, so it clearly seems from a stop the M56 (if that was the sedan you were referring to) would not be able to "destroy" our cars. Although 0-60 times vary from each site, this is just to give you an idea. Our cars are faster than you might think. :tiphat:

So straight line 0-60 terms:

2012 M56- 4.8 secs
2012 G35 Sedan-5.8
2009 Nissan 370z-4.5

:tup::driving:

From a roll on the highway though it would still be fun to watch. (although I dont recommend street racing :tiphat:) :icon17:

mick 10-05-2012 11:00 AM

yeah i believe it was the larger one, the infiniti M56.

no street racing, I would just accelerate up until about the posted speed limit and then cruise at that speed from then on.

usually after 2nd gear, there would be no other car close to me, except for that time :)

Riding My Butt

Since I have had mine it seems everyone is on my butt....I had a F150 before this Z and never had bumper riders like i do in the Z....at times i look in the mirror and it looks like I am towing the car behind me...then they speed around....maybe it's the fact that I am faster then 95% of the cars around me....

Trust me, that's the reason. I notice that every vehicle around you drives faster whenever there's a Z (not often a 370Z mostly a 350Z) around. Common sense should tell people they are just wasting gas, something that they complain about every time the price goes up (of course we all complain about it, but why waste it like that).

I had a guy in a stock 2.5 Altima trying to get me to race, getting on my a** then he acted like he beat me even though I pulled over to get out of the idiots way. It was 12 at night in Vegas with fairly heavy traffic, some peoples kids. Then he took off like a bat out of hell from the next stop light waving to me as if he had just smoked me. First I won't street race, second there was no way in hell he could have beat me, no matter what the idiots feeble brain thought. Take it to the track for everyones safety.

Ive never gotten any hate in the Z at all. I think its because i live in a high dollar area. Only thing i have ever gotten in traffic is people shouting nice car or big thumbs up. Gto drivers flash me and do thumbs up, c6 driver once beeped me at a stoplight and complimented the car, wrx drivers saying nice car...even riced out crapbox ppl asking about it at a light.

Infact, only neg comment its ever gotten was i overheard e46 m3 driver saying the nismo makes it look like a catfish

Im willing to bet this is geographical, whether ppl are a-holes or not. When i took a trip to ny state, i had rednecks on my bumper the whole time.

Thats funny of all comments you get that, most of my buddies who own a 350z get that comment, where as people say (based on headlights) that the 370zs are more shark like, and agressive. :icon17:

Urban Dictionary

"(Ri-ser fli bi) An action undertaken by a person fitting any or all of the genuinely accepted criteria of a "ricer" in which he or she accelerates a slow and underpowered motor vehicle, which is usually adorned with large spoilers, bright paint colors/graphics and neon lights, past another vehicle which is known or thought to be faster or more powerful with the intention of overtaking said vehicle at as high a speed differentiation as possible.

The act is typically used in lieu of a genuine speeding contest in which the "ricer" does not perceive any chance of succeeding and instead uses the action as a fabricated victory. The second vehicle is typically piloted by a driver who is unaware of any automotive competition beforehand, is likely driving in high-gear at low RPM and may or may not be adjusting the vehicle's stereo and/or scratching their genitals at the time.

The actual act of acceleration is usually very brief and surprisingly unimpressive and is usually accompanied by a very loud and irritating buzzing noise from the exhaust and/or the activation of the "ricer's" 4-way hazard indicators, which are used to communicate the bitch-slapping to the second vehicle.

Did he just do a ricer flyby??

In most cases, the "ricer" will later engage in spontaneous and excessive masturbation while vividly recalling his actions at which time the second driver will typically be having sexual intercourse with the "ricer's" girlfriend, wife, sister, daughter, mother or any combination of the above."

That is funny stuff, can't tell you how many times that has happened to me.

I get a lot of Hondas & such revving as they pass me. I hear them and think 'Seriously dude?' Had a guy in an older Grand Prix do it to me a few days ago and 5 minutes later we ended up in the same parking lot. I look over & his front bumper is dragging the ground (not lowered - just falling off). He kind of acted like he didn't see me. Think he was a bit embarrassed.

One day I'm doing to turn around and follow one of these stupid little 100 hp cars and just light 'em up right behind them.

Had an Older Ford Mustang 5.0 pull out in front of me the other day on the Highway...he laid in it smoking tires...I got up behind him and he slowed and after I would not go around him he changed lanes....got beside me and kept hitting the gas....then he got into it...flying down the road...I kept my same speed...caught up to him at the light...passed him...he was in the left lane and did not notice the broke down car with it's flashers on blocking his lane....and he was left behind and stuck....LOL me and my shinny new Z kept right on rolling down the highway....Now I am 51 and don't have a lot to prove anymore...Grew up in the Old Muscle car days...I had a 442, GTO, Camero,,,ect
But I found this car no matter how old you are is Like a Body Builder....from time to time you have to Flex it's Muscle....but at my age now I pick and choose when and where...
