Tailgating....

The last time someone tailgated my Z/28 I left them with asphalt rain.....They used their High beams in the daylight to get through the smoke...They followed me to the store and said I needed to re paint their car...I told them they needed to stop tailgating...

I had some dewshnuts flashing a bright light from inside their jeep after i passed them. It was bright enough to annoy me even through my rear view mirror..jerks.

I cannot believe the difference changing my plate made. Night and day : CINDY Z to ZYNFUL. Hardly ANY huge trucks challenging and tormenting me now! Loving it!

ElVee 05-22-2013 08:22 PM

I have to admit, I always find it strange when a license plate advertises that it's a girl in the car. Then again, I'm a privacy nut, amongst other things.

The last time I tapped my brakes (just for the lights to come on) the girl tailgating me freaked out, jerked the wheel and stomped on the gas, throwing herself into the center wall, which then sent her into the side of my SRT. :eekdance:

At 70mph a 360 is scary. Esp. when you only remember staring down a driver wearing silver aviators in a silver Mercedes SLK Convertible. :ugh: :icon17:

I hate these stories  That's reason right there for significantly more difficult driving test to get your license :shakes head: This is what makes me lose all respect and courtesy for other drivers not paying attention - I just try to stay (or get) out of their way.

Yeah. After that, I just slowed down until they got upset and just passed me.

But, now that I have cruise control, I just set that and go!

FPenvy 05-23-2013 09:22 AM

surprisingly past few days since i've been home from zdayz i've been getting a lot of thumbs up gestures. usually i just get the pissed off honda ricers and the smug bmw/merc drivers. guess it's just a good week haha

One the way home from ZdayZ, I had a few knuckleheads tailgating me on I75; especially driving through Columbus, OH. I guess they think the closer they get, the faster I'll go...NOT! These are the same goofs that weave in and out of traffic to get around people, then have to slow down when they get behind a truck :eekdance:.

I had one guy so close to me, that I could see his nostrils flaring :shakes head: because he was so mad I wouldn't get out of his way (only because of construction and so much traffic). I tried to get this idiot to back off by slowing slightly; giving the brake light treatment but no luck. When I was finally able to get into the center lane, I made sure that my transition took about 15 seconds :driving: . He wasn't happy about that either. Once he got past me, he was right on the a$$ of the next vehicle.

In my younger years, he would have gotten the downshift into 3rd, dump clutch, slow way down and then accelerate before he hit me. Anymore, it's not worth getting shot by someone with road rage.

kfull 05-23-2013 09:58 AM

Ill admit I used to drive a little aggressive when I was younger but I'm 26 now and can't be bothered to "get back" at people or establish myself as the fastest car on the road. Too much effort for all that dumb stuff, and it just causes stress. I just don't really pay attention to those kinds of dumb *** drivers on the road. Only "aggressive" thing I find myself doing is flashing high beams at a slow car in the passing lane, and I usually give them ample time to get over also before I flash them. Or sometimes I just pass on the right:driving: I expect to get a bit more people challenging me when I have my fast intentions exhaust installed, but whatevah! (Boston accent)

SmokeEater27 05-23-2013 03:06 PM

Yesterday driving home I had a Kia Soul start doing the lane stalking where they switch into every lane you go into, eventually she just starts to ride my A$$, besides the fact that it was raining horribly over here I was pretty much cruising home since its about 8 miles from my job to home and was in no rush. so as she continues to be up my tail pipe my accelerator seemed to magically stop working and the car began to go slower and slower, eventually she got the hint and peels off beside me and does the face of death stare down, luckily i had on my dark oakleys so i stared back with a poker face and then just gave her a big smile....never wouldve thought Kia Soul drivers could be so aggressive :driving:

yea i've had that before but honestly it's very rare. i have this medical condition called lead foot and people rarely are going my speed to tailgate me lol :tiphat:

I went by the local car wash to vacuum my car and the honda boys were staring hard; I continue on w/ my business and one of them decides to hope in his ride and opens it up on the street, drives by me and revs it. Flex those civic muscles!

I'm 31 yrs old, I just want to vacuum my car so I can get home to sleep by 930pm lol. I have to work tomorrow, I don't time for this.

I was cursing at night and stopped at a light when all of the sudden a Titan comes from out of nowhere down the hill and floors it trying to pass me here. Douch. I think I hit 90, not letting him by.

I had a good chuckle at some guy talking about a Nismo.

Was at a Nissan dealer and this guy was talking out of his *** saying he's going to upgrade and spend 70k on a Nismo or something. Guy was driving an Altima I believe lol.

Nailzs 05-24-2013 05:22 AM

On the way home yesterday I had a Chrysler Crossfire pull up next to me at a stop light holding the brake and taping the accelerator like it was big and bad.
We were in 5 lanes of traffic and he wants to act stupid.

blackcherry20 05-24-2013 06:53 AM

Pet peeve: car sales guys who don't know their cars. Dealership where i got my Z, I knew more about the car ...and the last time I took mine in for an oil change i was looking at the Zs on the showroom floor and the guy was talking out his butt. I was like uh huh, yeah, ok... Jeez. They think when talking to a woman that i am clueless. Shameful and stoopid.

Nuccigucci 05-24-2013 07:32 PM

I get cut off alot especially if I'm
On the highway in the left lane other drivers will see me coming up on their left and they'll pull right in front of me so I can't pass them and when I try to go around them they floor it in effort to keep me behind them. Makes no sense am I really hurting you that bad that you want me to stay behind you what are you trying to accomplish?

Good for you! For me age 30 was the real age of maturity/responsibility both professionally & personally. I guess that's when you say, "hey, I'm not a young kid anymore".

Back on topic, since the last time I posted on this thread couple weeks back about an idiot S2000 driver. I received 2 doses of positive acknowledgement. One a M3 drop top who waved when I pulled alongside him at a red light, the other a brand new Panamera GTS w/paper plates that returned the shaka sign as I was driving alongside him. Nice to have cars of that caliber acknowledging the Z!

seizer8 05-27-2013 02:23 PM

I had a truck driver in front of me on the right spit out his window and hit my windshield. It really ruined my day. It was a nasty green hacker too.
I think it's still about the "buy American" attitude.

Went home and completely washed the car, even though it had been pretty clean.

wow, that sucks. unless he was aiming for your car with his head sticking out the window, it might've just landed on your car unintentionally.

at least it was on the glass vs paint. spit is quite acidic and corrosive. :eekdance: good job washing it all off though.

i carry disposable gloves, small bottle of QD, and paper & MF towels in my cars just in case im motoring and get hit by bird crap. :ugh2: after you're done with the paper towel, you can flip wrap your disposable glove around the used paper towel while taking it off your hand, and tie it at the top like a balloon, so you dont touch the crap at all. :icon17:

First half of 30 for me was freaking amazing. This last half has been hell on wheels and really opened my eyes up to the fact im not a young kid anymore.

A couple of the Mid-A Z guys and myself just left lunch and we were headed to the theater to catch Fast & Furious 6 when this kid in a Pontiac Solstice GXP insisted on doing hard accelerations next to us to show off the sound of his BOV. Wanted to give him a thumbs down.

After the movies and headed home a Genesis Coupe sees us and does WOT ricer-flyby while we were at a stop sign. :|

I beg to differ... check out my avatar :icon17: also, Ms. Pintsize is exactly that, pintsized, and I believe would easily fit in the Z hatch. In fact, if I go to ZDayZ next year, she said she wanted to hitch a ride in my hatch and sleep in the tub :bowrofl:

370zbob 05-27-2013 10:25 PM

So i had a jerk on a mitz spider all painted up tail gate me on the 210 I'm the number one lane so dropped a gear and sped up from 70 to 80 and let off , the idiot jumped into the car pool lane and came along side me and money shifted and blew out his gear box and left bits and pieces all over.
I nearly crashed due to me lmao . But most of the time I just ignore the numptys .
I have to drive one 4 freeway to and from work and the worst numptys are Prius drivers , cut me up all he time .

dirtrat 05-28-2013 01:35 AM

I don't know why but where I live it's always crazy ladys who are the ones who tailgate me and want to race me. They are usually driving a late model very ordinary car. I've been flipped off twice for no reason at all and both times it was by a woman.

(I do not recall doing that . Ever. I did throw my hands up at a guy recently who pulled out in front of me. He was driving a full size king cab pick up and was pulling a 16 foot trailer w mowers. He smiled and toodled at me in his side mirror-oops :o ) lol

b15 05-28-2013 06:38 AM

I was going to pick up some dinner and was signalling to get into the left when this Saturn Ion sped up to block my lane change. Wtf? This idiot had been driving at my tail in the left lane for about a mile and could've passed me whenever since it was just us two on the road.

I throw my hands up every-friggin'-time this happens to me. So frustrating.

Couple of days ago, I'm cruising 50 or so in a 45 and this old lady in a Smart car doing maybe 35 changes lanes in front of me. :eekdance: Laid on the horn and just :shakes head:. Never once did she look over and apologize once I got along side.

Then, last night after I dropped my friend off after the game I had a long freeway cruise. Decided to take the interchange a little quickly and well, this Miata thought that meant I wanted to play. So he followed suit and then pulled up along side me and paced me. :shakes head: I just pulled out my phone and made a call to someone to talk about the game until he went away (I'll only drive and talk if I'm on the freeway, going straight, and with no traffic).

There's no way A) I'm going to race. B) I'm going to race on Memorial Day night where there are a ton of cops on the roads. Some people just don't think.
