oh I'm not saying its not smooth because he can't shift or he doesn't have experience doing it. I'm saying that there could actually be an issue with his tranny,

oh I'm not saying its not smooth because he can't shift or he doesn't have experience doing it. I'm saying that there could actually be an issue with his tranny, I've been driving MT since I was 12 and my shift from 1st to 2nd will sometimes grind at high rpms unless I "hold" the clutch for a couple of seconds, which defeats the purpose.

humm... maybe turn off SRM and do a quick double-clutch shift up. you are beyond the syncro's performance tolerance probably...
