You bring up an interesting point. How did the dealer get a car that was 400 miles away? I assume you didn't get a car with 400 miles already on it, so how did they ship it & did they ask you to share the expense?

plenty of 2011s and still some 2010s sitting around this area when i was shopping in march/april.

i used the zag car buying service through usaa when i purchased, and about a week after i took delivery, i got an automated email that the price i had negotiated through zag was no longer valid. apparently the shipments from japan were slowing down (tsunami), so the stock would be low for a while, and they could no longer honor my price. too bad i had already bought it.

A brand new 2011 m/t base is still shown on Autotrader for about $28,900 and many others still carry prices thousands off MSRP. Buyers should hustle in case prices do rise on account of supply disruption---although in this depressed economy I think it's buyers for less practical cars like 2 seat Z's are what's in short supply.

They sent an elderly couple to Milwaukee and they drove it back here. They paid the guy and his wife, but I paid sticker price minus some dealer installed options (mats, lighted kick panels, wheel locks, etc). The 400 miles doesn't count against warranty mileage.
