Well like with the 370Z, it's almost all but necessary to replace the brake/clutch fluid, add an oil cooler, and swap out brake pads. I'm guessing everything but the oil cooler would probably still need to be done for the C6 GS? I noticed the GS doesn't have SS Brake lines (not sure about clutch line?). Any other obvious weak points like this that should be addressed before tracking?

Regarding the Z06: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...-question.html

no reason for brakes, coil overs or any suspension. It will take you 3+ years of experience and being well into intermediate run groups to even be able to use them. I know instructors in stock cars that can out run advanced students with highly prepped cars. Driving experience and safety are the key.

DO however change your brake fluid to a high temp fluid like Motul.
^The above post was made by someone who does HPDE's, and LG Motorsports +1'ed it. Another vendor said pads + SS brake lines. Remember though, that is a VENDOR. They SELL things.

I have not yet seen a thread specific for the GS.

The GS gets larger rotors, and all the coolers, and a dry-sump if you get a manual, but it has smaller pads than the Z06. The larger rotors just take longer to heat-soak, but the Z06 brakes are better by far from what I have read from people who swapped Z51 brakes for the Z06 brakes.

Yeah, I tried searching that forum for more info, as well as google, didn't come up with much. CorvetteForum.com isn't nearly as close to as awesome as the370Z.com, we seem to have a lot more content and info here for our car.

Maybe you are not searching optimally? I just did a 5-minute search real fast to see what I could find. If you want better info, PM one of the instructors on the site. There are decades of road-racing/autoX experience to be tapped into there. There isn't a thing for the corvette I have not been able to find on there. I have even had conversations with people who actually build the LS7 engines on there. Lots of info to be had.

Perhaps, but it'd be a lot easier to find stuff if they had a few more sub forums.

It is incredible for the money, quality, finish, ride, handling, performance. 23k miles, not one niggle, just perfection. I could have spent much more, but this was a top value purchase in my book. Hands down a big winner. Next (barely) better thing is a cayman, 50% more expensive. Or if you like big power, maybe the ZR1 or GTR which are twice as expensive.
