While the factory fire may not be my fault, you are still their "customer" and they should do right by you, not charge you. I would say no, dont pay them.

Do you have pictures of how the wheels were returned to you after they supposedly repaired them. That may help your case when/if disputing.

Do you have any proof in pictures of the condition of the wheels before you sent it to them and how they looked when you got them back?

Edit - Whoady beat me to it, good luck!

I actually think you should pay them. Maybe settle for a lower amount, but since in the end you will be getting two brand new wheels, they are providing you a service. If instead they had fixed them correctly the second time, would you have paid them? If so, how much. That is what you should pay them when they deliver new ones.

op- so you're saying Lou paid for the crummy job on your behalf (?)...

if that's the case then unfortunately fast forward or lou will be liable for the shoddy work.

I agree. In the end, you're going to be getting two brand new wheels...which is better than being repaired. I would be happier with the results.. At least now you don't have to deal with further shoddy repairs. It's a done deal dude. I wouldn't negotiate...just think about how much two new wheels would have cost you.

Yes. I dropped off the wheels at Amplified and picked them up there too. But the second time i asked for the address to Fast Forward wheels to go there myself cuz i was pissed at the bad repair after such a long wait.
I never knew this shop was only a couple blocks away from Amplified...

i would talk to Amplified and ask them for their help. maybe they can work something out through insurance that will cover for everything.

you shouldn't have to pay anything imho.

I agree with the others that you should be happy with the new wheels, but I think you could still challenge them on the price. I would bet that Fast Forward had insurance which means they will be reimbursed by their insurance company for all losses, including your wheels. That means the insurance company is buying you new wheels and FF still pockets the $600.

I think you need to decide how much the aggravation is worth to you.

Provide a receipt for the wheels to them to submit to their insurance company for the fire, collect the money from them and buy a new set of wheels yourself and be done with it.

I also think you should pay since you are getting wheels, even though you have to wait for the new ones.

How did you bend your wheels? I ordered the ssr sp1.
