I must be old cause I wanted to keep it kinda quiet and so went back to the stock box.
That was the only reason. I too did not like the idea of removing the bumper although its not a huge deal.

I've no experience with the long tubes on my car so I can't comment.

what about Inejn's CAI? my car came with them on and they seem great (on the butt dyno). plus they are a true cold air system. simliar so stillens without the last curve no? plus they sound amazing!

if these things aren't good then someone needs to school me on why

Wondering this myself.

AAM also offers its own custom long tube CAI. I don't know what makes Stillen magically better than both.

I've heard the Injens may suffer hydrolock, but then again I don't go driving my Z in a foot of standing water.

I know at least 4 people in Socal that have had significant problems with Injen intakes taking up too much moisture even from the regular water spray off the road and causing problems ranging from poor drivability and stalling to the car not starting due to the water messing with the MAF sensors.

I have yet to hear of a single issue with the Stillen G3 intakes, which are still the king of peak power gains in terms of intakes.

THIS

Listen, Stillen just nailed it with the Gen III intake. Honestly you'd be wasting money on anything else or at least not getting the same gains.

Interesting. I've driven in heavy rain and had none of those problems with my Injen CAI's.

I heard the previous owner of your intakes had some issues with them. Car didn't respond well to the water.

Turned his car into a mustang or something.

Actually, I wonder if mustang did have those issues with the injens. Can't remember if we even discussed it. But I haven't had any issues, I've had them on since winter.

But as for the topic at hand, I would certainly opt for CAI's or drop-in filters over short rams.

The positioning of the air filters. The Stillen one sits behind the bumper sort of, whereas the Injens are close to the ground.

Either way, I've not had a problem, and neither did the original owner of the Injens who I bought them from.

I tested the JWT pop chargers when they developed them. I lost power on the dyno because of heat soak. Went with Gen III's instead. Pop chargers are somewhere gathering dust now. Better airflow than stock boxes 6MT? Sure. But sucking in all the hot air under the hood = better off with stock boxes and a K&N drop in or CAI from Stillen.

I installed these way back when and they made no power. No short ram intake will make any power on this car. Just get Stillen G3's.

What about the R2C intakes? I thought those made as much power as the G3's? I still haven't seen any dyno charts on this.... after all this time, and several other threads. Still no dyno charts. So what's the verdict?
