Jim Wolfe Dual PopCharger

Has anyone installed the JWT PopCharger? Give me your impression please.

It's really best to go with a cold air intake and call it the day.

Jack370Z 04-29-2011 09:50 PM

Thx Spohn...what about the K&N Typhoon from the Z Store?

spearfish25 04-29-2011 11:01 PM

Waste-o-money. Stillen Gen III or just stay stock.

I defiantly agree.

spearfish25 04-30-2011 08:40 AM

The only reason to get an aftermarket intake other than the Gen III is that you care about how your engine bay looks more than how your car performs. Given that after having done exhaust mods the Gen III only adds about 10hp above 7k rpm, it's just simply not worth the trouble to me.

Pure Bovine Scatology. If you don't think that a short ram intake improves air flow, you're dreaming. Yes, the long tube intakes give slightly better performance, but to say anything but a long tube intake is just window dressing is laughable.

Your example above would say that the stock air boxes and air tubes have the same performance as any short ram intake (?). Again pure Bovine Scatology.

:shakes head:

EDIT: btw, Jim Wolfe stuff is top notch!

6MT is correct.

Way too late for me, but the Stillen Gen III are coming on the near future. ;)

Don't you have to cut something on the Z to install the gen III

smokejr 04-30-2011 10:59 AM

You have to cut some to get the tubes thru to the front, not much, I have done this but
wonder if it is possible to re-install the stock intake without having to fab something??
I liked the throttle response after doing the mod, was much smoother.

You also need to use some rubber tubing to protect against shaving and possible damage of the CAI and A/C lines. ;)

It should be no problem installing the stock one back.

Lemers 04-30-2011 11:23 AM

They look great installed but it's hard to go back to stock

tjlazer 04-30-2011 12:31 PM

I got 6-10 whp gains with my Typhoon. Dyno'd it do a search.

Jack370Z 06-03-2011 08:59 AM

Talked with the guys at Jim Wolfe Technology and decided to go with their PopCharger for the 370Z. Glad I did...easy to install (did have a missing part problem but got it taken care of immediately...their customer reps were great) it looks and sounds great! BTW it is easy to go back to stock since I didn't notice the missing part until I had the stock boxes out...had to put them back and get the missing part and reinstall. The biggest plus I've noticed is the throttle response, especially at low RPM's, smooth as silk. No hesitation now. One big reason I went with JWT is it is approved in every state (some of the others aren't).
