Might be the Nismo suspension, upgrade it and see if that helps.

I find my sport packageless Z stable as a rock at those speeds. Many factors affect high speed stability.

IBTL

But I'll still add that I've done 135mph at Road America and there were no stability issues. Keep in mind that I also had to use 100% braking from that speed to slow for the upcoming turn...again, rock stable.

Some here. 135 mph on the straight into hard braking for a 70 mph turn, lap after lap it felt solid as a rock. The quick steering ratio and short wheelbase do react very quickly to steering inputs at those speeds so you do need steady hands. The 740 in comparison is a boat, wheelbase is 21 inches longer and contributes significantly to high speed stability. Even compared to the 911 the Z has a quicker ratio and the ratio is fixed vs a variable ratio in the 911.

we did have a lot of wind today...maybe I was incurring crosswinds. The more I think about the dumber I feel. I had no business driving like that. It wont happen again. I didnt buy the car to track or drag race it. Bought it for its looks, reputation and previous Z heritage (this is my 5th one).
Thanks for the input.

Unless you are being chased by terrorist space alien rapists, I can see no justification for driving at that speed on a PUBLIC road.

If you want to drive like that, do it on a track.

I am no stranger to that speed, I have done that w/my BMW 740iL, 650 and Twin Turbo 300ZX. They were all stable as a rock. Ironically the 7 felt the best. Has anyone felt a little unsure at that speed w/your 370?
So...what year Z28 and outcome? Mods to both cars (if known)?

The fastest I drove a 370Z to was around 100. Felt great. Of course, I have discovered in other cars that 100, and above about 120, are two totally different things.

I don't know how you guys do it, I am already pooping in my pants going over 100. It's not that I can't handle the speed, I just don't want to get busted. I guess living out west and south don't have as many pigs as we do

I know what your talking about, I use to always be nervous coming around a bend on the highway when I lived in Connecticut. The only good thing I encountered up there is that they love to sit in the same spots so you learn their hideouts. I definitely come across more cops in my daily drive down south but their usually doing 20mph faster then me. The road I have to take to get to work is a 13 mile straight away that goes between a natural preserve so I open the car up there when I'm wanting that adrenaline rush lol.

Maxed out 155mph on my nismo and it was smooth. All depends on the road condition and wind. The nismo spoiler really adds down force to the rear wheels.

I think the only instability was from shaky hands from nervousness of driving those speeds on public roads.

At that speed, you need to upgrade your doors.
