I agree. Vehicles have just become another household appliance, which is a shame, really. Driving and owning a vehicle used to be a sought after privilege. Cars have enabled a whole new level of laziness. Case in point, I've seen so many people drive their cars a few blocks down the street instead of walking. In my subdividion, there are some townhouses that have the grouped mailboxes at the end of a long shared driveway and everyday there's someone that stops their car at the mailboxes instead of walking down to get their mail. Yet there are all these studies on Obesity.....it's pretty simple really....be more active and eat better...

Secondly the sense of pride of owning a vehicle has diminished. People just don't care anymore which is a shame because I take pride in my vehicles, keeping them in tip top shape. I can't count the times I've seen nice cars that are all beat up. Heck some of my neighbors ask me why I just don't take my cars to the car wash or to the firestone down the street to change the oil

Don't even get me started on cell phones/texting and driving....lol

I have that type of mailbox in my neighborhood, but I stop on my way home and check it.

And, I wish there were places to walk to around here. Everything is so spread out in Phoenix that you can't walk anywhere w/o walking several miles.

I couldn't resist posting after seeing this. I would be worried that any car parked next to me would clip my rear end.
