Hmm I wonder if the OP knows how dangerous cell phones are. They are a excellent source of ignition for gas fumes Just sayin .........

Pffft. Everything is illegal in Canada. It's more like Europe than it is the US: nanny state overload.

Now that works for some people and obviously Canadians are happy with it, but that ain't how we do things here (yet).

Please do.. because:

snopes.com: Cell Phone Use at Gas Pump

Mythbusters proved this is pretty much not possible either.

Most sparks at gas pumps are caused by static electricity, not from cell phones.
