Writing a check is usually taking cash out of your bank account (checking or savings) so yes it is the same thing.

financed my used nizzie (2010 1700 miles) at 3.5% with $1000 down. Plan on keeping it till the wheels fall off, so I can pay off higher interest stuff like my house and student loans. have a 95 saturn as a dd to keep the miles down.

My dealership took personal checks. However, we verified with the bank that the funds were there before the customer left in the vehicle.
