Porsche 918 HYBRID

  1. it's 800k.
  2. It's not environmentally friendly in any real stretch. No gas-powered combustion engines are. They're just more or less harmful.
  3. It's not about the environment, it's about how one can save money on gas or electric.

It's environmentally friendly by harming the environment less. Also has less CO2 emissions I believe, which does help the environment. There's the whole thing about battery production/transport etc, but I was just trying to show the other guy that hybrids can be performance oriented and stylish too.

Considering that even at worst, human industry produces less than 10% of the sum total of greenhouse gas emission, I think the whole eco friendly car scene is a crock.

I want hybrids/electrics to see if they can improve upon combustion's performance and/or value. I have no other interest.

Even electric cars are powered by coal, since that's what generates most electricity.

Totally agree with you on that. I want to have a career in the energy industry to help develop technologies for renewable energy use for electricity.

I think a gas turbine engine has good potential if we can get over the engineering difficulties that come with them. Jaguar had it in one of their new concepts but I'm not sure if it was actually functional and running or not.

It's funny. The only person who has randomly come up to me and asked about the model of my car and got it correct was a 10 year old kid. Everyone thinks it's a 350.

I agree with the other posts on how this car really doesn't need alot of advertising, it sells itself. The type of people who buy this car know about it from sources other than TV adverts and such. How often do you see commercials for Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Genesis Coupe, etc.? It's more of a niche market for sports cars especially in these economic times.

Actually, there's quite a bit of air time for the new Mustang V6.
Thinking about these economic times, the commercial focuses on the car's ability to make 300+HP while getting good gas mileage.

I'm that I almost never see another 370Z.

Surely the economy plays a big roll when selling a car specially if its a sports car which requires someone who appreciate such a beauty. I had to wait 6 months to sell my ex e46 M3...!

No doubt. Modded cars take a nice hit as well. I sold my S for well under 20k, and it took months at that price.
