I just used the "syncro-match"

OMG OMG!! I have had my Nismo for 1 week and a day now. When I initially test drove it everytime I pressed the clutch the engine would rev and it was annoying, so I disabled S-mode.
Today I decided after doing some reading to see what the hype is all about. Again....OMG, OMG!! That is hella cool, the downshifts are super smooth. Before when coming to a complete stop, I would put it in neutral and coast or would select a lower gear that I knew the speed at the time could handle smoothly.
I heard some folks say the S-mode dumbs down the manual shifter or somehow the S-mode takes away from the shifting experience....that's a load of crap!!
Really cool innovation Nissan!!!

SPOHN 03-30-2011 02:12 PM

not as fast as a paddle-shift thread would.

toxik 03-30-2011 02:27 PM

OP, the reason you read negative comments about Syncro Rev Match is because not everyone has a Nismo. Your tranny comes with eagle mode.

Congratulations on your discovery. It is a very fun car to drive. You are getting extra "love" on this post because it has been discussed many times in other posts. Dont worry though. They are harmless and most of them very helpful when you need it. ;)
Enjoy your ride.

We have syncro rev match too, dude...

Down shift a gear or two on coast down, it will rev to match.

EDIT: They call it "Downshift Rev Match", but it's basically the same thing...

I also lack SRM, but I also still have a lot of fun in the Z.

SRM is just a bonus for the sport owners.

Thanks for the reminder, bro lol

EDIT: Definitely read it too fast and wasn't even thinking on what you wrote. But yea I prefer the whole "ME" synching the downshift

Red__Zed 03-30-2011 03:23 PM

I like where this thread is going.

SPOHN 03-30-2011 03:26 PM

Yeah. Can you smoke, eat, read newspaper, and jerk off at the same time? with a paddle shifter, I can, all the time. Automatic WIN.

warbird 03-30-2011 04:04 PM

according to the highway code in the UK you can only do 1 of those things in the car while driving. the others are banned.

hint, only the final one is ok:tup:

SPOHN 03-30-2011 04:05 PM

In before the lock. As in locking this thread. Which will likely happen after the moderators here see it.
