Default One of the best (but small) things I like about this car...

Is the gear indicator in the middle of the tach for the 6MT.

Back when I had my 350, when I was cruising along in 6th gear (local road, around 45-50, not interstate) and accelerated, the substantial power in reserve (and even more so now on the 370), made me believe when I stepped on the gas that I was in 4th and not 6th. I would start to upshift when I was already there. Embarrassing, especially when not alone. Now, all I need to do is look at the display for confirmation that I am in the gear that I want to be in.

I hijacked these from the dealer's website. Haven't gotten around to taking my own yet.

I like that feature too. I've owned a bunch of manuals and this is the first with that display. It kind of makes reminds me of a video game likeForza or Gran Turismo.

BTW - Nice car. It's my twin, only black.

Congrats and welcome!

The gear indicator is neat but redundant. When you get used to the car, you can tell which gear you're in by feel. Now, SRM...that's definitely cool! Enjoy your new car.

I know non-sports don't have SRM, but no gear indicator either?

I too feel which gear I'm in, but for confirmation I like the R for reverse. Did I push down hard enough? No you are in 6th.

Welcome to the forum.

The gear indicator is one of the small things that I miss from my Z. Mainly because if you're just lumbering around in traffic it's easy to forget what gear you are in.

Tachometer/speedometer are what I use. That fails, I give it a bit of gas and see what happens

I find myself using it as well. I think I will use it less when I put a real exhaust on the roadster. I always know what gear I am in when driving the Z32 TT by the note of the exhaust.

You know what I like, I like the cabin noise. Ill put on my flame suit now :P

I do like the gear indicator though. Kinda makes sense to put it in seeing as the SRM function has to see what gear your going in to blip the throttle.
