Just have fun and see where shyt goes...been enjoying myself the last few months actually....I was stuck with the "husband" since I was 18. Doing things now I never had the chance to ;) It's all new and exciting, kinda

Exactly. Never give anyone anything you aren't just fine without, because without fail you will be fleeced.

Polite to everyone, nice to a select few, trusting of none.

I have never regretted my life philosophy.

I have watched couples with 4 decades of marriage behind them just walk away from each other before. All that "We've been happily married for 20 years!" stuff just makes me smile. Of course, I don't dog on married people, just like I don't dog on people who gamble. Everyone has something they enjoy that is hazardous to their health. So I politely smile and hope things go well.

Agreed.
Give me my Coronas, Bacardi Razz and pack or Newports...and my dogs and I'm a happy little camper LOL :excited:
But seriously tho... people change their minds every day about something. Always be careful in choices and try to make the right ones. Other than that..live life to the fullest. Never know what life'll bring tomorrow

No offense, but if you trust no one, then you'll never experience true friendship. Not in the "hey let's hang out" sense, but in the sense of having someone to rely on, even when the rest of the world thinks you're sh*t.

I've got a few friends like this, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I'd also never betray their trust intentionally.

It's incredible to have people who will be there for you like that, and if you open yourself up to no one, you will never have that, or at least you'll take it for granted.

True, you're less likely to be hurt or betrayed if you keep everyone at a distance. But I wouldn't want to go through life like that. It's your philosophy, and if it suits you, then I'm happy for you. But it won't suit everyone. I wouldn't want to live my life like that. Not saying my way is better, just different.

that's true... you can just be picky about who you let inside is all :)

LinPark 03-03-2011 09:10 AM

No offense here - I find it funny that people in a marriage would rely on the advice of someone who professes to not ever get married. Sounds like they are asking someone a question with the intent of getting the exact answer they are looking for. :)

No one ever said relationships are easy - they work for some people and they don't for others. I know some people who get married solely for the tax write off.

:iagree:. Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. The pragmatism of, "I'll go it alone" sounds fine, but in practice, won't work for most. Without trust, you will limited in life. Mountain climbing, camping, hunting are safer with a buddy. Even hold the ladder requires trust.

Keeping your finances separate, as above, is excellent advise.

It's like that movie, Whatever Works lol In the end, as long as you're happy with how you live your life, then that's all that matters. Life is too short to waste it on people that don't deserve your time and also on cars that suck lol

I'm the kind of person that values friendship and I think having a partner in life that you trust and that deep down truly cares about you is better than being alone. That may be tough to find these days but I think it's out there. Even then I think you always need to have an exit strategy in case things don't work out as planned.

One thing's for sure, no one's ever going to take away my car lol Eff that

I've attended many weddings before and every time I hear "till death do you part" I always chuckle. Then people stare at me.
