Sorry about your situation. Considering that he seems to be in the wrong and the divorce would be his fault, you should be able to get something out of him. With that said, it's hard to start over being single again. Good luck and hope everything works out for you.

This makes me a fan of separate finances. I always advised my friends to never buy anything they couldn't pay for 100% on their own if they dump their girl/she dumps them, and visa versa my female friends. I usually play the ref as I don't mess with the whole relationship game.

Yea I understand that now. In 10 years..I really had no worries, but things come up out of nowhere and this a lesson learned unfortunately.

Yea I'm definitely a supporter of separate finances. I was engaged and about 8 months from the wedding when she broke it off. I was lucky we only had bought a car together so everything else was an easy separation. I could only imagine what a nightmare a divorce would have been.

SophiaZ 03-02-2011 09:05 PM

^ its a complete nightmare... Im just lucky I have dogs and no kids... he wont fight me for the dogs haha

werd, I coined the phrase "emotional tampon" back in the day for situations like that... being the mediator sucks, but it's the one thing i was really good at back in the day lol

I don't mess with relationships/dating/etc.
I am all about being successful at what I do, pumping iron, and enjoying life.
My friends use me as a 3rd party for advice as I can see the situation from the outside looking in.

I don't mind mediating at all. It re-affirms my choice of bachelorhood every time I help out :tiphat:

The only way to make sure you don't have epic fail is to not mess with it.

SophiaZ 03-03-2011 04:55 AM

To all those above.....
Never put full trust in someone ( no offense to those already married or in a serious relationship) but it only takes one slip for everything else to fail. Point being...always pay attention to your surroundings and the "signs"

Just have fun and see where shyt goes...been enjoying myself the last few months actually....I was stuck with the "husband" since I was 18. Doing things now I never had the chance to ;) It's all new and exciting, kinda
