It was at 600am the temperature was 29 deegres going to work, the deal is I was making a right turn at 30mph hit black ice and the car went sideways, to corrected I had to push the throttle and do a powerslide. With VDC on I bet the car woulded caught greep and problably lost control. I was not specting that to happend. I think everybody needs to learn what your car is capable off so when this moments comes you know what to do.

It's this anecdotal, self-fulfilling BS that makes people think turning VDC off is a good idea. In reality, VDC would have modulated the brakes at all four corners to reduce your speed and kept your car from spinning. You probably would have been fine. Cook a turn so you plow and slide and see how fast VDC straightens your a$$ out.

Man i don't care if you think thats BS, but i drive with VDC off all the time and by now I know how my car responds in some of the situations. And if someone crash because one day that person decides to turn off his little computer helper and end up in a three thats his problem, and if that happends to me it will not by surprice and it won't be a little crash aider.

O almost forgot I'm not a professional race driver but driving in Dominicar Republic, and Iraq counts to me.......and thats is self-fulfilling thanks and drive safe and slow.

VDC uses a number of sensors on the car that detect wheel speed, yaw, control input, etc. If the computer detects that the car is not acting within tolerance of the intended direction of travel based on your control inputs, it will react.

Because it's a reactionary system, not a preventionary one, it won't keep you from sliding around or spinning the tires all together. It's there to act as a safety net for when things do go wrong.

Mine is always off, in the rain, snow. Im not a fan of traction control. i like to control my car not a computer. ANDDD even with it off its still on so its never as much fun as i wish it could be because its still on.

Do what YOU want to do and feel comfortable doing. Dont go turn traction control off just because everyone else is doing it and not crashing their car. And dont go out and think ur a racecar driver bc u have a sports car. Just please be safe guys. Ive lost many friends due to stupid driving and im only 22. if you want to test your car out go to a track. My $.02

Why do people say this? The only system that can be deactivated is the ABS. With VDC off, I have no problem making the back of the car overtake the front.

VDC will not save you for sure every time but it can prevent the unaware from crashing. I do not love VDC and tend to turn it off a lot. I just can not remember to turn it off every time. In the rain I like it. It has been raining plenty as of late too.

I never said that I couldnt et the rear of the car to come out. All I'm saying is that if you know what it feels like to get a car sideways and keep it there with NO traction control, VDS, ABS an what ever other driving assists their are. And u get in a z and try it it is a world of difference. I can hands down feel the traction control kick in. Wether it's the abs applying a little brake to control it or it's killing power Idk but u def can feel it.
